Well Dylan, this is my 2007 #73 ruby red.
My oldest GEC and I wish you the same luck, as it’s as good as it gets at any level
Haha, yeah, I only have 9 right now... I’m just a terrible “collector” in general, I either want to use it or modify it, whatever it is!It helps to have a variety akaMatt, I cannot help but buy as many as I can as well. Some I use and some I just admire on a circulation. I like them around me and can’t get enough![]()
I have carried the 53 on several occasions. It just hasn't been call to duty on food as of yet and so it is just drawing a slower patina. It will get there one day though, it is a special knife with a private story that is important to me.I just don’t know how you people do it, with those shiny new knives from years ago!
The oldest unused knife in my possession now is a Viper I got way back in early January... and that’s only because I got multiple of them and haven’t gotten around to that one yet!![]()
Great one Barrett! Photo, pipe and knife! This GEC-made Schrade Fire & Ice Trapper was made in 2007. I no longer own this exact knife — it was a giveaway prize a couple years ago — but I do have another just like it, and it’s my oldest GEC.

I’ll have to dig around for it.
Great one Barrett! Photo, pipe and knife!
Is that a 23 or 73 size?
I didn’t realize those were made so early on thanks for the info. I have one of the bigger ones I think. I’ll have to dig around for it.![]()
I don’t know why, but given some of your other acquisitions I’m a little surprised. Utilitarian, sure, but doesn’t have the finesse of some of your others. Happy you like it though!Really enjoying my new Calf Pen... It's such a useful design
I liked the beer and sausage when I had one but didn't have a use for the comb. Was wanting another 35 and decided on a calf pen. I do love the little knives tho, you got me thereI don’t know why, but given some of your other acquisitions I’m a little surprised. Utilitarian, sure, but doesn’t have the finesse of some of your others. Happy you like it though!
Handsome assortment- I love to see used GECs.
Happy to see that amber sawcut in there! Hope it’s treating you well
