I use water stones, so I can't say what my precise angle is, but I'd say it is between 15 and 17. I like a slicier profile.Speaking of factory grinds, I usually put a 15 degree bevel on my knives. Then, with frequent honing, I rarely need to touch them to a stone after that. I find that the factory 20 degree, or so, is a little steep. What angle do most of you sharpen to, or do you leave the factory grind on them?
I think we will see something in there and they are already in production. We just don't know about it yet.For those that follow GEC's rate of production much closer than I do, is there a belief they will try to squeeze another run between the fixed blades and the upcoming 86s? I think I recall reading a comment from Charlie that we should see production of the forum knife in November. Based on the current production schedule with the trappers and the fixed blades will that run right up to the start of 86 production?

They ran a lot of the 15 run earlier this year with no info out.Boy they are really keeping their cards close to their chest these days. I really enjoyed seeing the hints and everyone's speculation at what was up coming.
Spring Street Barlow is the planned name for the Forum Knife.Well, we know that there will be some fixed blade H10's.... the sign down the hall has me puzzled... I don't know the significance of Spring Street, but the oak leaf? Isn't that the shield GEC used on their stainless blade folders, like the 74 Mustang, etc? Or was that an acorn? Perhaps a stainless ....... something that has to do with Spring Street?
edit:..... ok, the oak leaf has been used on SFO's for DLT.... and the acorn was on the stainless 74's..... that's the sum of my knowledge on this topic...
I believe that is an acorn that they use.Don't they use the Oak Leaf pattern on their fixed blade sheaths?
The Oak Leaf could just be the H10s coming up.
I think the leaf is also part of GEC’s logo.Don't they use the Oak Leaf pattern on their fixed blade sheaths?

Yes, that's right! I had forgotten that we had named it..... it's been so long....Spring Street Barlow is the planned name for the Forum Knife.
