Lets talk GEC!

Why are there photo shop marks?

Maybe because it was scrubbed?

We've mentioned AAPK knives here before, not sure why we couldn't now. It's a sharp looking knife but the typical AAPK shield logo and etch turn me off a wee bit - not to mention, shields on Barlows?!

I guess now we know that the bolster wasn't so exclusive to us... Shouldn't have kidded ourselves to begin with, I suppose.

Yea, I wouldn’t trade my forum knife for that. I’m good. I can see it as a need to have if your are collecting 86s though.

Yes, that is a bit of a bummer. I originally thought it was a Frankenstein (as noted by Jiki), with a blank shield and blade. But that jigging and color looks amazing.

Honestly, they turned out a stellar knife - the jigged bone looks absolutely amazing and with how much I love my AJ, I wouldn't say no to the AAPK offering. I'm just not all that active over there and couldn't justify getting one even if I had been attentive to the release. It's a knife for them to be proud of, for sure.

Proves once again how incredible a canvas that the 86 pattern provides.

Tibit is very talented, he has been known to transform a knife or two.

Oooh! Is there still time to join and get my post count up high enough to order???

;)

Seems like they kept it pretty hush hush and then limited the purchase to paying (supporting) members only. Looked like a fairly clean process, though I don't think the members were able to pick what they got on the knife.
Ours was on the the production schedule but I did not see theirs.

The 33 quickly became my most carried GEC as of late but now I am extremely excited for the white owl. I was going to ask for a compassion but I was able to find this old thread that answered my question perfectly:
