Lets talk GEC!

See what confused when it was said there was a caplifter; I know about the 15 Electrician, but didn't think it had a caplifter

I believe there are 3 different 15's on the way soon. Two STR SFO 15 electricians and a 15 (radio?) with caplifter/screwdriver

To those who like the GEC Facebook page, has anyone had any issues with it. I have noticed that every time I check my feed, it looks like I disliked the GEC page. When I like their page again, it switches off the like, and continues to do so every time I hit the like button.

There are also 6 different GEC 15 Electricians, Sheepsfoot and Saw/Screwdriver, Spear and Saw/Screwdriver each in Ebony or Cocobolo or NifeBrite. And they are also making a #15 Farm Boy, Clip and Spey, Rust Red Jigged Bone, Antique Yellow Jigged Bone, Ebony and NifeBrite. And the #15 Boys Radio Knife, Clip and Screwdriver/Caplifter, Rust Red, Antique Yellow, Ebony and NifeBrite.

I'm patiently waiting for any news on the website about some new #15 Barlows in the making. I believe they were saying sometime before the new year, but I'm starting to wonder if this is possible.

Thanks!

Ok the #15 Radio has my interest. Main blade backed up by a screwdriver/cap-lifter sounds too darn useful to pass on. Are these going to be limited to certain distributors, or a regular release?

Thanks - Pat.

I received a tube popper with an order a little while ago (Thank you Mike!!) and I must say I didn't realize how much I needed something like this until I started using it and then tried to open a tube without it. It is SO much easier using the TPOP instead of fingers. A tube here or there may not make a difference but it does if you're opening a bunch. I know there was a thread a while back about these but you don't really hear much about them anymore. I'm not sure if they've sold out or what. I haven't seen one in a while and didn't see them on any of the dealer sites while casually browsing.

In case any of you are psychics, will the #55 be made again? What does it take for GEC to make another run of a knife?

Just pondering this as I look at this thread with my coffee this morning. A few threads / an or posts have come up lately regarding the proliferation of GEC talk in our sub forum. Would this thread be a good possible candidate for sticky material and a place to move repeated GEC subject matter from newer members?
The title of the thread alone just screams potential for this, to me at least.

First thing, we try to keep stickies to a minimum. That said, we've got some plans for an informational sticky on traditional knife terms etc, that was suggested awhile ago. It's been percolating for a long time. It'll require some rearranging of some existing stickies and I can't guarantee it'll happen, but it's been something I've want to do for awhile now.... maybe with winter approaching...

To your question; I don't think we want to sticky a particular manufacturers thread in the traditional forum. I'd love to see a GEC sub-forum, in the Manufacturer's Forums, but that is something GEC would have to pursue. I do try and merge some of the new GEC threads, when it seems appropriate. That'll have to do for now.
