Lets talk GEC!

Do you think the bullnose will be different than those out there? The viper and magnum will be exiting to see.

Does anybody know if/where they've posted information about the Magnum and Viper? Or is the mention on the cover page the only information so far?

I cant find anything about this on their site anymore. Anyone have any word on it? I want to see pics!! Do you think theyd ever make this with an EO?

Looks like GEC is making them right now.

I'm intrigued by the new esquire pattern. Around 3 inches closed and two blades on one spring. Can't wait to see what it looks like

Does anyone know if the Northwoods whittler is going to be built on the same frame as their Norfolk? I am also waiting for the Esquire.

Regards

Robin

Did I read the schedule on the website correctly RE: #715113 Farm & Field Tool
Orange Delrin
Black Delrin
Nifebrite Acrylic

I have been kicking myself for not getting a redneck Bullnose...

Quite appears that way, same pattern number and overall appearance. That one's gonna be a real humdinger in ivory.

Lately I find myself interested in getting a GEC, but can't decide which one. I do know I want one in 440C, but I don't know how to find those models listed. I also know I want one that isn't a nail-breaker to open.

To anyone with a 440C model: Are the rest of the steel parts stainless, or only the blades?

The Blades ARE the only steel parts. Nickel Silver bolsters, pins and liners are Brass. Handle slabs are wood, bone or Elk Horn.

Backspring stainless too I assume.

Go for a stainless White Owl, these are really top notch items and have a decent but not unpleasant pull, so too the Conductor in stainless.

For the folders, just look for the acorn shield. They do an awesome job with the 440C! I am a huge fan:)

There are some GEC dealer sites which have 440C as a searchable parameter under GEC.

No specific sites need be mentioned, but several of them are BF dealer members.

My mistake! I forgot the backsprings.

The blades and springs are stainless steel on the Great Eastern branded knives. Most models have fairly modest spring tension.

Thanks for the info and suggestions! I would probably have to wait until sometime in 2014 to go about purchasing one.

That White Owl in particular looks like a really cool pattern, especially with the wood scales.

Are there any 440C sheepsfoot models, with barlow-style handles? So far I haven't been able to find any. The ones I've seen in 1095 look great, but I really prefer stainless.
