H20! Non-traditional midnight camo micarta. I wonder why such a choice?
For me it's because camo matches the glass breaker that seems to be at the end of these.

Regarding slips: I own a few because I like leather items like that - they look cool. But they add so much hassle to pulling the knife out to cut something that I never use them anymore. I found that switching back to slipjoints after years of modern one-hand openers was completely unnoticeable as far as daily use goes, but adding a slip into the mix was significantly worse from a use perspective.
That said, I rarely use them as it's an extra step towards having to retrieve my knife.
I've pretty much come to the same conclusion. I'm also just not that "precious" about my knives, even the nice ones. They're still tools, at the end of the day, and a pocketknife should be just fine in a pocket, imo. I like knives that show honest wear from use. But when I'm pocket carrying a traditional folder, I don't generally have anything else in the pocket.

This is carried quite often in a pocket with keys, small Leatherman, a second knife, a brass Fisher Space Pen, and a guitar pick. No slip because it's too much hassle when I need to use the knife. I like the patina I'm putting on the bolsters, the bone, and the blade. This knife's story started as part of the BF community, but now it's also got my story written on it, without in any way removing the first story.

you know, if you are for dexterous, you can open that with one hand. ive seen videos of this specific thing. there is enough purchase on the blade for it.

I like these combo slips that can hold a knife, light and pen. I hate the feeling of a bunch of stuff jangling around in my pockets and this keeps everything nice and tidy. I also just like nice leather goods so I sometimes use a solo slip even if I'm just carrying a knife only. It also keeps it upright in the pocket and the extra 5 seconds it takes to get it out of the slip doesn't bother me.

I have one of those as well, and like it, esp. because it allows me to keep three things in the same pocket, without them jangling around.

Belt sheaths, not ideal for smaller knives, but those aren't as bulky in the pocket either. Having given pocket purses a try several times they are just not for me. :)

I have several slips. I almost never use them. I do occasionally use one I have with pocket clip on those rare occasions when I want to carry a traditional in the tool pocket.

I tried those, but it looks and feels like I have a brick in my pocket.

I open this (and most of my regular carry slipjoints) one-handed all the time. Not as fast as a tacticool modern folder, but works great for me.

Knife slips are fun and they allow a craftsman to show off their skills in a simple and satisfying way.

That said, I rarely use them as it's an extra step towards having to retrieve my knife. I have multiple pockets - one for a knife, one for my wallet, another for a beer koozie and a handkerchief, and the other for everything else (flashlight, pen, lighter, guitar picks, and change). Sometimes I will pocket carry a fixed blade in addition to a slipjoint - in those cases, I'll add a slip.
Beer koozie...Legend

I have multiple pockets - one for a knife, one for my wallet, another for a beer koozie and a handkerchief,
Koozie for better grip, practical. Maybe drink faster and keep extras on ice if using for temperature control. Handkerchief, old school and many uses. Respect.

Tip up 23 trapper today. All other traditional slipjoints fit well and same technique applies. One finger push from bottom and you're ready to slice and dice! Knives stay upright.Full size 5th pocket will fit any cell phone. Leaves two front pockets for anything else and keeps your knife by itself for tactical slipjoint deployment.

Sometimes I use slips. Sometimes I don’t. Depends on the knife. I can say I am a fan of well crafted leather goods and some of the Porch members make exceptional functional art in this form.
