Lets talk GEC!

I am going to be stopping into the GEC factory in a couple of weeks. It’s the first time I will have visited. Is there a limit to the number of knives I can purchase? Looking for three total so my two boys each get a present. I obviously need another one 🙄
I'm sure three wouldn't be a problem. Explain to Joan Mae your intentions and she will be very helpful. She's good people.

there are no restrictions on normal daily business that i am aware of. The only time there is a restriction is during the rendezvous times. And of late, they even close the factory a day before to make sure there is plenty of stock for the event.

Thanks for the info. I have a flight ✈️ to Florida from Maine. Then a drive 🚘 back from Maine to Florida. I’ve done the trip many times but usually have at least my dog. Solo this time….He is an English Mastiff. I wouldn’t know how to even put him on a plane. Going to map out a little western PA detour…

Cool area. I try to get in some fishing whenever I'm in the area. Everytime I go, I find another place to check out. I prefer those kind of trips over somewhere "complicated". Simple trips for a simple mind. Lol.

There are people on this thread with superior knowledge, fanatics even ;)o_O

Is there a GEC 15 single blade Sheepfoot, all steel Barehead?? So many 15s have come out that I can't keep up with them all. I have a Scout in that spec but it has EZ-Open notch, no two blades either.

Thanks, Will

Do TC Barlows count?

Apart of all the #15 TC Barlows in STL (Steel) with just one Blade, no EC (EndCap), there are just the 2013 Scout HBKs #153113 with EO (Easy Open).
(and the Northwoods Broadway Jacks, also with EO, if they count as a HBK... and if i remember right there were some very rare single pieces of them without EO.)

Er, no :D I want a small bolster and NO EO-notch:cool: I have the 2017 Forum, great knife but too much...bolster.

My thanks to @JoKr but it seems my requirements are elusive....could cap lifter delete my Crown Lifter but don't want to, it's a nice tight knife. Anyway, getting work done seems to be getting complicated lately..

OK, I'll compromise and LOWER my standards...;) is there a single Sheepfoot 15 NOT Barlow, NOT EO and certainly Barehead that has BRASS liners???

An eager mind would like to know :)

Fair enough. You didn’t specify that in your initial query. 😉

I’m afraid they’re all either EO, Barlows or have endcaps. Even deleting a caplifter delete on a sheepsfoot Crown Lifter would still leave you with an EO notch, wouldn’t it?

surely you have accumulated enough 15s for donor projects??

@btb01 Yeah I know...and you're correct EZ Open notch there too- losing it me o_O

@mrknife You'd think so, but no. Have a nice Clip Barehead not using that, ditto customised Spear, nor the stainless Clip and the rest are Barlow or EZ Open.

GEC need to do a fresh issue of 15s - to my specifications :D

15s are a bread and butter pattern, theyre a perennial favorite, always welcomed!
Maybe, or they have just been produced a lot. One cannot tell because everything sells out except for a certain key chain knife. I'm sure the patterns I listed and many more will be well received. Also I'm not recommending a discontinuation of the 15 just an opportunity for other seemingly ignored patterns.
