Lets talk GEC!

I'm gonna hold out hope for more electrician's, just given the popularity of the 15 pattern and the seeming frequency with which they run it. They apparently just sold a crazy amount of beer scouts after all. I'm hoping that we see clip and spear point versions of that one as well.

An EO notch and TL-29 shield would be pretty cool!

can not agree more. having just bought 5 models on forsale and what not. now if only they had a 15 clip point with end caps....

I recently bought a GEC #53 with elephant ivory. It's waiting for me to get to the post office to pick it up. 4 1/8" equal end frame with 1 blade at either end. Does anyone know if this is a single spring or 2 spring knife ? I am hoping single spring (like the Northwoods Presidential), but think it likely is 2 spring.
thanks, kj

Hey kj, I've been waiting for you to post pics of your new 53!

I'm pretty sure it's a single spring but I'm not positive.

Kj-those are TK Cubans. Or cuban pens. They r single spring with 2013 date codes. As the TK was the first GEC I ever bought with Bill Howard looking over my shoulder in their store and it being my most carried knife, I felt I had to pick one up myself. What letter did you get? I really wanted f but ended up with a.

Thanks for these replies. I will post pictures but it will be next week before i will have time to make the trek to 'town' & P.O.
When i got to KSF there was only 1 Cuban left so i nabbed it with just a quick look. Once paid for the picture disappears and that was the last one, so i couldn't go back and take a close look. The Order paper says "E" of the Bark Elephant ivory. I don't know how many there were but this one as last choice looks fine to me.
When i have it maybe i will start a new thread so everyone who scored these End of Days GEC ivory knives can post pics.

There were a lot of neat old designs that I'd like to see GEC reproduce. For example, the old Schrade and Remington knives had great locking mechanisms. On the Schrade, the lock is released by pushing down on the other blade. The Remington had a switch to release the lock.

kj-this is the one you bought.

Any idea if GEC plans on doing another run of the #15 Electricians Knife?

I have no clue but I am happy Charlie traded me his! Love it. If they do another run snag one for sure. I know I will try to get whatever handle material they make.

Jake, thanks for posting those old electrician's knives, very cool.

Dad is going to a flea market in a couple weeks, I'll tell him to be on the lookout for those variations. I know it's a long shot, but you never know.

Rockon75, thanks for posting the 2 pictures. It does look like the one that i bought. If not the exact knife, the marks on the ivory are very similar.
Is there a way to access pics of sold knives at KSF ?
I already have 2 #53 Cuban folders. The one from 2007 is a 2 spring, the other from 2011 is a single spring.
kj

That looks like a #53 Cuban Pen. As for accessing KSF's pics, I've been able to access pics of sold out knives through google searches and url manipulation.

Did they get rid of the upcoming production schedule on their website? Not seeing it anymore.
