Lets talk GEC!

2016 is GEC's ten year anniversary. I wonder if they will come out with anything to celebrate? ...

Since they started with the 73 and 23 is seems like they should do some special 10 year variation of them.

Can anyone (Mike, Bob, Derrick?) confirm if the upcoming 47's will be bareheads again or will they have end caps this time around?

I do honestly think that the 85 pattern could very well represent the next 15 or 77. I was not even part of the traditional knife world when 85s were being produced, but, lo and behold, I managed to get as many as I could after the fact. I think this pattern, especially with some new wood and bone options (especially dyed camel) would be pretty big. One blade, two blade, spear and clip, with pens and coping? WOW. How about some 85s with natural canvas micarta?
Tons of possibilities. Many dollars disappearing. . .
Thanks,
Brian

Sorry; can't edit from my phone. What say you about a regular PRODUCTION spear/caplifter 85?
That might just be the one. For all time. In many glorious covers. UGH.

I also think a new run of 85's would sell out fast, especially the Northfield variants with a long pull. 15's with caplifters seems very popular, and I don't see why a 85 with a caplifter wouldn't be popular.

The forum knife was the first #85, an EO, and it had a caplifter.

I haven't had the opportunity to pick up a #85 yet. What covers look best on it or are hardest to find (not including ivory)?

There is no indication they will be any different. So we can presume bare ended with tube.
