Lets talk GEC!

Hopefully the make a larger number of NifeBrite Bull Noses. The small number they made before have all dried up. I sold my orange Red Neck after picking up a NifeBrite one, and have regretted it since (selling the Red Neck, not buying the NifeBrite). Hopefully I can pick up another some day. Although if they make a yellow or red one, I'd have some debating to do.

Has GEC ever made a scout knife? I know the #72 is sometimes called a scout but I mean something like a scout/camp knife, like a case jr. Scout. With the release of the #15 electrician and the radio knife, I thought it would be cool if they combined tools/blades in one knife. Kinda hoping they have.

Nope, but I don't think I'm alone in hoping that they make a scout knife. I would imagine it could be part of the Farm and Field line, to start, might have a few small runs in the Northfield and Tidioute line. Maybe O1 or 1095 or even 440C on the main blade, then 420HC on the other blades.

Again, just a wish.

Yeah I'd love to see something like the old Kabar or other models from yesteryear. Like the 1152 I have for example. Great knife! Could have probably been a bit more upscale and valued if bone but its a great user and certainly a great cutter. I bet GEC could pull something like this off with the #15 frame too if they wanted to do it with a twist almost like the Northwoods model for the one end swell a bit. By the way, I'm really diggin' this yeller bone that just arrived today!

My wish is bone covers with a spear main. Not sure of steel yet.

You're not alone!

does anyone imagine that GEC could make some good scissors? A scout knife would be great, but for me a multifunktion SAK-style knife is incomplete without scissors, I carry a vic manager always, so I am covered in this area. I imagine it is very hard to get a tool like that right.

If GEC were to make a Camp Knife, I think it would have to be on the 53 or 54 equal end frame. Those of you that have been following GEC for awhile know that price is tied to number of blades. A Northfield Camp Knife could be quite expensive. I'm sorry to say that interest on the Forums does not always translate into sales. The last 4 blade equal end that GEC made was not very popular. For several reasons. Price being one of those reasons. In My Opinion, I don't look to see a Camp Knife from GEC any time soon. Unless as an SFO.

I'd like to see a bare head jack at 3 3/4", with the same frame design as the # 55 Hound's Tooth, in two configurations - 2 7/8" spear main / 1 7/8" wharncliffe secondary and 2 7/8" clip main / 1 7/8" wharncliffe secondary (secondary behind the main). Nobody makes one like this, that i'm aware of (Queen/ Dan Burke Barlow's too small and wrong frame shape). Is there a reason why this wouldn't work?

Let's just say I have a few GECs. Been collecting them since the very first day they were available in 2006.

Nice! Your #25s catch my eye, especially the ebony there on the far left (I have one as well, and it's a favorite favorite :)). Is the knife directly above it a #26 in stag?
