Lets talk GEC!

I thought the same, I'd love to see some honey horn of that caliber make its way back into the offerings.

This little Tidioute is what I carried today, closest I can come to celluloid but in acrylic.

Now that GEC has the #13 pattern out (2013 Blade Forums), think they will offer this pattern in a whittler configuration? I'm thinking the sheepsfoot would stay the main blade, but with a couple of other smaller blades...... or better yet, what should the blades be?

If you wrap your Sweet grass in waxed paper it stays green and very fragrant for a couple of years ;-))

If GEC were to make a Camp Knife, I think it would have to be on the 53 or 54 equal end frame. Those of you that have been following GEC for awhile know that price is tied to number of blades. A Northfield Camp Knife could be quite expensive. I'm sorry to say that interest on the Forums does not always translate into sales. The last 4 blade equal end that GEC made was not very popular. For several reasons. Price being one of those reasons. In My Opinion, I don't look to see a Camp Knife from GEC any time soon. Unless as an SFO.

Bob, that's why I was thinking the camp knife might start out as part of the Farm and Field line, hopefully moving on to the Tidiout and Northfield lines with natural covers.

Yeah, they went fast when they came out. I bought this used from Barry aka GunstockJack.

I do believe if it WERE made, it would be a good fit in the Farm & Field line.

Is your little Barlow in the upper right in Smooth Ivory Bone? Looks great.

Thank you ALLHSS, yes it is. Thanks for the tip Robin!

I've never seen one, and I've looked! Congratulations, must be great to carry.

If I'd even ever known that GEC had made a #25 in smooth white bone, and I'm not sure I did, I've forgotten. Very nice!

If and when you may so be inclined, I'd love to see pictures of your #25s over here in a thread devoted to them:

GEC 25s- Gots 'em?

:)

You caught me in a weak moment Perry.

:numbness: :calm: :very_drunk: :distracted:

Whoa, that was some moment! :D

As far as GEC producing a camp knife, I believe Queen just released one in red bone? I'm not sure how the knives (would) compare, but it may be interesting to see how the Queen knife fares.

These days I so seldom use a can opener or cap lifter even in my house, I have a hard time imagining Needing either permanently on a/my knife instead of in a glove compartment or something for the Just In Case that has yet to arise. But, not every knife is for everyone, by a longshot! :)

How would a model 79 in the two blade version carry in the pocket? Especially as compared to a model 68 white owl, or 33 conductor. Thinking of one for edc.

Hey rider1, welcome! The 68 and 33 both somewhat specialize in being a compact carry. The 33 is my alternative to a peanut. The 79 will be an ounce or so heavier than the 68 but will take up a good bit more pocket room. The 79 won't carry in the watch pocket, whereas the others will.

Thanks for the info. I will probably go with the 68. I really need something pocket friendly. So glad I found this site!

Just pulled the trigger on this Tom's Choice! Couldn't resist the smooth bone again.
