Lets talk GEC!

Good score on the sheepsfoot model Perry! That is a super useful blade combo, and the Smooth Ivory bone is really pretty (and hard to find)! I hope you're planning on carrying and using it so you can fully appreciate just how great a knife it is! Congrats my friend.:thumbup:

I tote that exact same knife around, as backup to my Boiley Barlow, Perry. Good choice, IMO.

Thank ya Charlie and Barry! I could't believe it when I saw it on ebay the other night. I thought those were all gone.
I have it and 2 Northwoods coming in right now. 1 Freemont Jack in blueish/cream Camel bone and one Burnside Jack in Calico bone. Should be fun and useful to carry all 3.

Well hopefully another will show up soon. I know Barry has a few yeller bones.

Maybe, I was ruminating on it, but certainly happy that someone here got it.

And if this is your first, all the better. I have more than my fair share.

Seems as usual Mink, everybody does but me. Once again late to the game but still in it!

I was reluctant to get it engraved as the shield is tiny. I took to a trophy place that does work for the school every year. He uses computerised acid etching and it looks great. With the 66 he wasn't keen due to the small size and it being a one off (no room for error). Also he suggested that hand engraving would be more appropriate and I agree. He sent me to another place where the guy does the engraving by hand. No worries and instead of the 30 dollars I expected to pay it cost 6.50!!.

Here is what would be my ideal GEC. Take the 68 frame and put a spear point and the bottle opener from the radio knife, then add an awl opposite of the opener. GEC cub scout pattern. It would be a most useful and pocket friendly pattern.

Here is a pic of a couple of GEC beauties (#53 Cuban Stockman and #72 Lockback) with some great popcorn red stag.
No trouble getting a good grip on either of these!
