Lets talk GEC!

Here is a pic of a couple of GEC beauties (#53 Cuban Stockman and #72 Lockback) with some great popcorn red stag.
No trouble getting a good grip on either of these!

That popcorn is something else! Really great. May we see them in full color?

Since this does not seem to be about any particular GEC knife but rather several upcoming GEC knives, I am merging it with the "Let's talk GEC" thread.

Funny, this is turnin into a Viper thread...snaked its way in here:rolleyes:. I'm thinking it's gonna be my first sway back. Looking forward to seeing the cover options.

Knarfeng. Beat me to the punch.

I thought the Northwoods #44 would be the last knife I'd buy, but then the #47 Viper is revealed. I'm going to put an end to buying knives, I just need those two first.

It'll be exiting to se what handle materiall they'll use. I'm hoping for wood as always.

Yeah, 3 already and 2014 isn't here yet ;). 2013 had some interesting models but it looks as though GEC is turning up the heat further for 2014.

That Viper looks sweet; and a single blade version should keep the price a value.

Anyone interested in canvas or linen micarta Bullnose? They are sneaking out of the factory behind these delrin models.

Some nice looking patterns coming out. The #78 American Jack looks interesting, as does the #09 Esquire.

I sure am! I purchased a farm and field lock back, and sure find it slippery to hang on to.

I have 2 of the Nitebright #47s and a paper micarta Bravo Necker II that I sanded down with some course sand paper (220 I think) and it improved the grip a lot. Won't be shiny anymore though.

The canvas are and SFO for me and we are leaving them un-buffed for a better grip and hand rubbed look.

I was thinking of trying sanding the handle, but was afraid Id really bugger it up. :p
What the heck,I should give it a try.

Mike, what color are they going to be? I was going to get a redneck, but if a micarta version is in the wind, that would definitely seal the deal for me!

I'm very interested. I normally don't want anything to do with synthetics on my slipjoints, but micarta is an exception. That and nifebrite. :)
