Lets talk GEC!

Oiley creek bone looks great... happy to see there's no JSR wyndotte frontier knives etch (or whatever it was that JSR was using for an etch)

I'm really hoping GEC gets around to another run of bull noses this year. I heard somewhere they aren't going to be using 01 steel anymore. Imagine a run of those sodbusters in 440c...

I'd also love to see some denim micarta on a sodbuster pattern, it fits the working man's tool theme perfectly! Does anyone know if they've used denim micarta on anything besides their northwoods?

The only image I have of the springs - I don't know if you can make it out or not but it does have a 'modern split back' as opposed to the much rarer old divided single spring or what some refer to as a true split spring whittler. Anyway:

I no longer have this knife (I traded it to someone who was much more desperate for it than I). :)

Thank you Paul im now going to Google the term True Split Spring Whittler:D

BTW That's one beautiful knife someone ended up with .

If you take a look at one of the dedicated whittler threads there are images there :)

Denim Micarta and 440c #71 or #21? Sign me right up.

It's all y'all's fault.

I ordered an antique yellow jigged bone boy's knife today.

If I hadn't been reading this thread, I prolly wouldn't have.

That will be your gateway knife! Cause the single blade is so great ya just gotta try a 2 blade...then a 15...

I did the same. Was surprised they were available. Two left on KSF when I got mine. Did you get the last one?

IMHO it's the most traditional looking knife I own. Plus the F&F is immaculate.

I wouldn't mind seeing a smaller run of 85's. Maybe 3 and 3/8 inches closed.

I personally would love to see another run of model 83s. A blue denim micarta as posted about would be my choice!

This sound's great to me too. I am just about to do a swap to finally get myself a Antique Yellow Jegged Bone #85. I'm very excited about it to however I'd love to have a little brother 85 in Burnt Orange to go with it :D

Sometimes I wonder whether I buy my knives based on their usefulness or their photographic appeal.

I was lucky and scored a 14 barlow, now I "get" the big bolster thing.

I sure do hope a run of 15 size barlows is run with the beer scouts and boy's knives!
