Lets talk GEC!

I like the pattern, blade combo, jigging, but the dye just looks wonky. Not like their normal Antique Green Bone.

If you don't like that, how about some blood red ?

I would love to see a pemberton with a sheepscliff blade coming from the big end. Think that would make a great little pocket knife.

Hey everyone. I just discovered this place about a month ago. Like many, I used to carry a pocket knife all the time, but something happened along the way and I stopped. Anyway, I am in a place now where I both (1) wanted to reconnect with that and (2) actually found myself with a regular need for a knife. So after much research (and lurking), I ended up with a Northfield #54 Moose in red hangman's bone. (I'll try to figure out how to post a pic.) I just can't believe this thing. I could nitpick, I suppose, but I bought it to be carried and worked, and it has been a fantastic tool these past weeks already. It feels so great on my hand it probably isn't getting much pocket time.

Anyway, I wanted to share and say thanks, since you all unknowingly helped direct me to exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I think I also caught the knife bug hanging around this forum.....

Peace,

Michael

Welcome to BF, glad you're enjoying your #54. And yes, this bunch will have you fighting "knife fever" from here on. :) With GEC's incredible knives it's hard to avoid having at least a few.

So, I guess there's probably a way to find out but I'm not sure how, but I was wondering if GEC ever made a Ben Hogan style large clip or spear point in 440c and natural elk stag?

Not yet, but they made the 72,73 and 23 in stainless and some have elk handles, but you'll have to look on the secondary market.

Just happened over to GECs site and saw the setup knife for the Viper pattern! Holy Cow! Now that is a great pattern! Cannot wait! Hopefully we will see some of that great peachseed on it!

I'm wondering on the slab options too. Orange Osage be very nice. Here was me talking about reining in the knife expenditure...some hope with this stuff about:eek::D:D

Osage Orange would be something! Bolsterless...?

Agreed on the expenditure..., I made a promise, 3 a year. Christmas, Birthday and one extra.... Hmm!!

I'm watching too! I'm guessing it's based on the Hay n Helper pattern....?

Sam
To me it looks like a Single Bladed Sway Back Jack.

I'm really looking forward to this knife, with some real dark ebony, bareheaded would be sweet.

That's at least three new patterns GEC is introducing this year that I'd like to have, the #09 Esquire, #22 Magnum and the #47 Viper. Just when I think my wallet can rest a bit...:D
