Lets talk GEC!

Bullnose and a 73, in case anyone is interested. ;)

The first pic somewhat exaggerates the difference in length between the two - the second & third pics capture it better. The Bullnose is only 1/16" longer by my measurement.

The Bullnose can be pinched open due to a softer backspring and a little more blade area to pinch.

The difference in the overall thickness is obvious in the last two pics.

This Viper looks like a large Case Sway Back Gent. I have a GEC #55 Bocote with a Wharncliffe blade so I don't know if this Viper will be added to my EDC. I'll have to see if there's much of a difference or if it is made with "must have" handles.

The "Viper" looks like a nice swayback. The "Magnum" caught my eye first though as I'm fond of gunstocks.

Is my memory messing with me, or did knivesshipfree have the micarta bullnose in stock?

Fortunately I found someone else who had them in stock and that could ship to Europe.

I'm looking forward to them also. I think I'd like to magnum to be more in the 3.5 - 4 range though. But I suppose the 76 already fills that niche.

Is the "Magnum" really only a 2 5/8" frame?

If so put a keychain loop on it and I would love that for my car keys.

Viper for sure, originally I had marked the Magnum as well, thinking it was 3 5/8".
After constantly going back looking at the make up model, I clued in, and read 2 5/8"

Neither of those patterns really light my fire, which is cool. Not everything appeals to everyone, and I've been trying to restrain my knife buying impulses. I'd appreciate GEC making patterns I don't like for the next few months, keeps the temptation down.

Been corresponding a bit with a couple of the GEC dealers on BF. The #22 is apparently not going to happen in the immediate future ... sounds like mid-late spring might be realistic. If at least one version has a single clip (like my ebony Tidioute Pemberton) I will be a happy knife nut.

Been watching the site for the last 3 or 4 days waiting to see what these will look like. Interested in the Viper/Swayback, if they make it look right. Knowing GEC, it should be a good pattern for them.

Can't wait to see how that Viper turns out. That will be on my radar for sure....

I'll second that. Not for me. My bank manager is relieved. Phew ;)

Just noticed the 22 Magnum myself and I'm somewhat interested. At 2 5/8" it's actually smaller than my Pemberton. Hopefully a single blade with jigged bone is an option.
