Lets talk GEC!

Thanks Steve! Some beauties there!

Size comparison: from left to right, a tiny manicure knife from days gone by, an 09 Esquire and a 54 stock knife.

The Esquire seems almost medium sized in comparison.

Agreed! They did spear jacks the first time through with the #92, would love to see their version of a clip this time, with the coping of course!

Exactly, so I can quit drooling everytime you post your modded 92.

I have a question.

Some knives from GEC have steel frames, and some have brass frames. Have they made any patterns with both, or is it always the same? Are they consistent on this? Take the #55 with it's brass frame, is it likely that all future runs of this also will have brass frames?

Do brass frames always have nickel silver bolsters, and steel frames steel bolsters?

I know the #25 and #73 were both made as regular and STL models. For the #68, the White Owl and stockman (forgetting the name atm) had brass liners while the jacks were STL. I'd say its possible for them to make STL models of any run of knife.

There were a few brass framed knives that had brass bolsters but I think those were SFOs. Otherwise, I believe, so far, brass had NS and STL were STL.

No! One big spear, one big clip! I need a good Moose!!!

I saw Derrick's post.

I agree! Pictures are overrated.... at least for this question! ;)

They already make a 53 moose ;)

I took the thin comment to mean single spring. Can a moose be single spring? I know a hawbaker is and usually has a straight blade :)

 Paul, beautiful combo my friend.

They also made a great run of steel #36's with stamped blades. I love the all steel versions of any of their knives. A #42STL with a stamped UN-X-LD blade would be perfect

If the new magnum had blades/nail nicks similar to those on the diamond jacks, I'd be all over one as I prefer small knives.

I think I'll be setting aside my #33 whittler for my son. (Maybe just an excuse to get another GEC.) I've narrowed it down to either a #15 boy's knife or a #92. Would anyone be willing to post a photo of these side-by-side (#15 and #92)? Please and thank you.
