Lets talk GEC!

Actually warming up to the Calf Pen, and like the idea of the orange one. But I think the price is going to keep me away.

Says image is too large for server. Still trying
When I get this message, I crop off as much as possible and try again. I find it works best for me to take the photo from a little further away so I can crop more off.

This is assuming you're taking photos on your phone and uploading directly to BF of course:)

I'm curious to see if there is/where the nail knick is on the razor blade. I like the idea of modding the razor into a clip point. Every picture I've seen so far has only shown the wharncliffe.

There's at least one pic on the GEC website showing the nail nick on the razor blade. It's pretty far forward.

Jack, do you think it could be done on the razor blade of the Calf Pen Jack? I have no experience with blade modifications but that nail nick is pretty close to the crescent cut out.

You could always make a spey blade of it. I prefer a spey to have belly above the center line, but with the right swedge, it could look pretty boss. And it would fit the nail nick gorgeously. Spey blades are rediculously overlooked in their utility.

Sorry guys. It was a pain in the neck to try and resize on my phone before so I waited to use my computer. Pretty beefy and has some weight to it. I actually am quite impressed although the screwdriver is too recessed to really be versatile.

I said I would save my money but I caved!
Don't be too hard on yourself, when will this pattern get run again, ya know? I'm guessing the production numbers on the Calf Pen will be pretty low.

Before I order a 2nd, however, I want to get the first in hand to see if I really like it. I can see the micarta models in my future tho!

I hope they make enough Churchills that a person can wait and not have to "buy right now" like on some releases.

Very true. I see the SFO 78 was up on one of the dealers for reserve and it is already in standby mode.
