Lets talk GEC!

Has GEC ever put out anything with a brass bolster? Just curious.

The 2015 Rendezvous knife was a #74 improved Trapper in Tortoise acrylic with all brass hardware. They also made some knives for SMKW under the Bradford Cutlery name that had brass bolsters.

The Golden Brown Jigged Bone 78's look great, but...is that some kind of secret Barlow I see to the right? on the 78 frame, maybe?

Those mysterious Barlows look like saw cut heaven to me. And the golden brown single blade 78 was on my wish list. This just means I will have to take a second job to pay for all these great knives coming out in 2018.

I wonder if it is a Northwoods Barlow on the 78 frame? It seems that the Northwoods knives have had secret runs and then KSF announces their drop after the regular run of GECs wrap up. Examples would be the Lincoln Jack and Delta Jack that ran after the TC/forum and Churchill’s.

Quite plausible.

Yet, the sawcut bone seems an odd choice of covering for a Northwoods release. It doesn't really jive with their typical selections of exotic bone and micarta...

One of those bolsters is in plain enough view to where one could potentially decipher a stamp. Too out of focus though.

I totally agree with you that the covers don’t match with typical Northwoods covers.

That one pic makes me feel like a kid on the night before Christmas. Lol.

One thing I know for sure, there probably won’t be enough supply for the demand.

NW Barlows have been in Sawcut bone in the past, though.

I will admit that my Northwoods knowledge is rather limited. Considering that this isn't just a one-off knife that crept into the photo, but instead what appears to be, at the very least, a limited run of something, the Northwoods theory does indeed seem to be the most plausible.

I just find the covers to be odd compared to what the Northwoods releases have been utilizing in their last several runs. That particular color of sawcut would be more in line with a regular GEC run versus a Northwoods.

It would be a welcome surprise to have a regular run barlow.. I like the GEC SFO barlows, but the process of getting one is usually not super easy.
