Lets talk GEC!

Nice! From Farm and Field to Wall Street, I like the irony!

Personally I'd like to see this as a slipjoint with steel liners and high (Moki style), mirror polish:)

The history is fully explained in the GEC book Scott, and makes very interesting reading I think

Of course! Thanks, Jack. The book is now on the way from Titusville, and I will soon be UN-X-LD in my knowledge of all things GEC!

Excellent Scott, my favourite part is the Northfield history. If you need any help translating the quoted words of the old Sheffield grinders that set up the firm, let me know! :D

they still seem to be knocking out winners every month

would realy like to see a bit more stainless though - would love a #15 with a clip and pen blade in 440

Anybody notice this yet:

I did not see this picture yet but I have to say I like it! I wasn't to sure about that bolster when I first saw it on the GEC sketch but now I'm digging it for sure. So glad I reserved one of these in the Arican Blackwood. Should look very clean and classy with the contrast of the dark black wood. :)

My thoughts exactly. I have one reserved in Stag and in Blackwood, but I have a feeling I'll only be picking up the blackwood. Unless of course they stags are just unbelievable.

For some reason the bolster logo does look better in the actual photo than the drawing. Something about the proportion or perspective.

The Nf font choice is what does it for me. Looks straight out of an 18th century catalog. very neat!

It looks better because it's a proper STAMPED Barlow bolster, if it were engraved it would look very cheap.

I don't know if it would necessarily look very cheap... I have a couple of Canal Street barlows. They have engraved bolsters but the knives themselves are very well made. I do agree that stamped looks a lot better.

I love the look of the bolsters on the 77 Nf. I thought they looked great in the computer image. Can't wait to see them in person! They look like they will be very similar to the #78 American Jack.

I was on the fence about the bolster when I saw the drawing but after seeing it, it looks great! Glad I have one on reserve!

This may have been already asked, but does anyone know if the #77 (regardless of version) will have half stops? I'm guessing yes, but I never really know what to expect.
