Lets talk GEC!

Drilling out the pins is certainly one method. But the method Im more familiar with is using a razor blade and splitting the knife down the middle. At least thats what I used to separate the 48 I tried it on.
PM to be sent shortly! you've got my curiosity.

What do folks like about the easy open?

I abhor them. They do absolutely nothing for me. EO notches ruin the lines of otherwise good looking knives. Admittedly I might be an outlier. I like my slipjoints with a strong pull, and I can pinch the majority of my knives open, at least for the main blade. That includes tough knives like a Wright's small lambsfoot.

I'm with you on this one.

They're knives.

You say that like the thrill is gone...
It's a handsome assortment you have there, nicks, dings and scratches considered. Please, don't say "thank you for the compliment", because you're welcome! :p

What about a cardboard box?

That's a very handsome assortment, too, Jiki... there's just something about boxes though that haunts me. All those times I've seen neglected, surely once beautiful and useful pocket knives rusted shut inside cardboard boxes at tag sales and flee-markets . I just can't shake it... I'd naturally guess with your talent for carving that perhaps you'd consider making some sort of holder for your knives. Looks like you've invested enough in them! beautiful collection.
