Let's talk Northwoods

Hey Alan! Good idea about the email. That might be the most effective route.

There may have been a GEC or two made under the Northwoods brand for Dave Shirley, founder of the Northwoods brand, before Derrick purchased the brand in 2009 or 2010. If there was, Derrick may or may not be aware of those. Just something to keep in mind.

I probably dont need all the handle materials listed, as I'm almost certain that the materials are listed on KSF under the Northwoods Archive. The reason I want this info is so I can target specific models for my collection. I also think it would be a nice point of reference for everyone. Thats a great idea, to check the production totals at GEC! I will see what I can find...

Not all Northwoods knives were made by GEC, Some were made by Queen.

Like this medium stockman, in D2. Great little knife.

Yes cocobolo and it's a great one. My son decided he needed it for a few months but thankfully he ended up giving it back and borrowing one of my Chris Reeves instead which I have too many of anyway. Love my son but was happy to see the Northwoods come back home :)

hamsco hamsco that is some stunning stag! May we see the pile side?

T tomsch no kidding. Is that cocobolo? The grain is mesmerizing...

Right before Christmas is kinda lousy timing, but I just bought a Cross fixed blade with that maroon burlap micarta, so I'm gonna hafta have one of these to match.

And the red linen micarta looks awesome...if someone could PM me a drop time, that would be great!

I wonder if these Delta Jacks will have half-stops. Everything so far on the 35 frame has not had half stops.

Someone mentioned a week or so ago that the #35 Calf Pen Jack has half stops. I don't own one myself but I thought it strange that GEC didn't change the pattern number when they added the half stops.

Anyway, it's a good sign that these won't be exempt from the possibility of half stops.

I'm confused. Wasn't the 35 pattern finished up a couple of pattern's ago? Have they just been holding on to these for Christmas?
