• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Let's talk Northwoods

55s.JPG Got my black micarta, very good fit and finish nice little knife. I am really liking all of the variation in the giraffe bone this time around, but, I think that my favorite is the denim micarta. Here is mine with his cousins

Had to wait until I got off work but here is mine. The tip does not protrude at all... excellent F&F, no gaps and centered. Good snap, pinchable. I didn't try on the last two Northwoods releases, but something told me to hustle on this one and so glad I did. Couldn't manage to get the lighting quite right but this shows the colors pretty well

Wow what a beauty ! I Really like the color of yours

These fayettes really feel great in the hand. I think I'm just a fan of these smaller form factor knives like this one and the little bay.

I am absoloutley pleasantly surprised by this release. I'm liking it allot!

Just a post to commiserate with the likeminded. I lost a reasonably priced Mammoth Fremont, my grail of grails today by literal seconds. The search continues, but I did get this beautiful Ebony Madison in the mail as a consolation.

Once upon a time, I had 3 different Fremonts. The prettiest blue camel bone, a rich creamy Elephant and a mammoth. First I let go of the camel. Then the elephant. I knew I'd NEVER part with my mammoth, though. Until...my best friend asked me for it.

I gave it up, too. At least I can still see the mammoth from time to time.

Here's a pic of that mammoth. :D
(no filter!)

Love the clip Madson, ArchiveMoto ArchiveMoto .

I wish Northwoods changed up the color of the free slips. Seems like the slip color has been the same for a few years. I have too many of the tan orange colored freebies. How about some black or dark brown? Maybe even some bright colors - the colored slips would be interesting with giraffe bone, and people could trade to get what they wanted since you don't have a choice with the freebies. I would gladly give up the stickers and coin for a different color @okbohn .

Adding my mammoth fremont pic because posts are more fun with pictures

I have turned a couple slips dark brown by soaking in Neatsfoot oil for a couple seconds, inside and out, then wipe off excess quickly. Came out great and helps to weatherproof. Just make to wipe down good and stick a folded paper towel inside to absorb excess oil. First time I tried I left the oil on too long and it was a permanent oily mess. It will look blotchy at first but within 20 minutes the oil will absorb and the color will even out.
