Let's talk Northwoods

There was a lot of talk about this pic in the GEC thread a few weeks ago. At the time I was thinking they were probably 77 barlows. Since CK has posted the cover options for the 77 barlow, and none of CK's cover options match this picture it makes me wonder if the upcoming Northwoods is a 78 barlow. Several of the Northwoods releases last year had teaser pictures in the GEC in production images that were removed after 24 hours - like this one. The bolster is blurry.. none of the blades shown. Just some thoughts. Big Bay?

Ya, quoting myself from January!

Is it just me or does it seem like there are a lot more Northwoods releases? Every pattern gets a Northwoods version.

You are spot on. There are a lot of Northwoods releases these days.

I agree with Ramrodmb that the rustic grinds are getting old. I feel like this new one is just more of the same old thing. I’m only interested if there is a sawcut bone or wood cover cover this time.

I have a feeling these will have the same covers as it's little brother - Little Bay. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Really liked most of the recent Northwoods offerings.
This one, meh. I do love the 78, but as Fox79 said, its just more of the same ol thing.
Sawcut bone? I may have a look;)

I liked the 78s that came out recently, but allot for the blue camel and full flat. Kinda wish I didn't sell mine.

I like these of course, I think I was just maybe hoping for something else, but not sure what. Full flat, spear or drops good. I love love love the little bay, but I haven't yet warmed up to this one yet.

They typically always do the trick once there in the hand however... :)

Definitley don't mind the frequent drops tho! Yay

Is the bolster on this one long enough to be considered a Barlow? It looks too short to me.
Travman, I've been told that the bolster on a Barlow covers one third of the scale. If this is true, I'd say that it is not considered a Barlow. I've also been told not to believe anything that you hear, and only half of what you see! But anyway, I say no. -Lance
