Linking pics stopped working

Acknowledged but not much a moderator can do, Spark Spark will need to investigate.

I posted a picture the other day with no issues, I don't use a hosting site though.
 
I’ve always used hosting site… Im paying like $3 to Image Shack and my pictures are protected and not cluttered my devices. Having your pictures hosted online have lots of advantages, one of them is - you don’t fill the forum’s server storage with your pictures… The feature was working perfectly till about week or two ago, it is only a matter of fixing the code of the forum, replacing the current line with the module from two weeks ago. This have nothing to do with the network error we were getting, it’s a fact that the problem appeared when they “fixed” the network error, means they messed up with the picture code some how. I can temporarily figure out how to post pictures but if I won’t b able to hotlink my pictures the way any other forum works, what’s the point of being here ?

Yesterday I shared a link to a post (this one) in which some images had the red X while others did not (it was about a third of the pictures in that post). All the images still exist on Imgur, and all show up when you edit/quote, so the URLs are obviously fine, they just don’t show up in the post.

I checked that same post again today and now ALL of the images in that post are red Xs. :mad:

I spot checked some other posts and it looks like all my images prior to some time mid-2017 are like that.
 
This is bad… Just checked my old posts from last year, all my pictures are gone too… This is ridiculous :mad:

When Photobucket did that thing, I started resizing my photos and posting them directly on BladeForums (by cut & pasting the file directly). Then Spark Spark said that there is a data limit on how much we can upload that way, but there's no way of knowing what ones data use is, or any way to clear out space if I were to exceed it, so I started using Imgur.

That was a few years ago, so maybe things have changed?

The photobucket change was while we still used vbulletin? Perhaps xenforo is different? I honestly don't know. I post pics everyday using the screenshot my phone camera pics method and upload them with the attached files button and haven't met the cap yet, if there is one.

Hopefully, Spark Spark can weigh in, to me not having to have the pics on another site seems like the best option. Hopefully we don't have a cap.
 
Still seeing older photos that aren’t working. In the post I linked before, some of the photos that were red Xs before are working now, while others that showed up fine before aren’t anymore. 😵‍💫 Hopefully the fix is ongoing and they’ll all be back eventually.
