Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

The Santos wood looks really good. I'm thinking I may like it better than the cocobolo. I am a bit confused on what kind of wood it actually is though. I have seen it called palo santo and santos. The palo santo I have seen was not as red as these look. I have seen reference to another wood that is called santos mahogany/rosewood which is used as a substitute for brazilian rosewood.

The "Sure" reservations that picked one up before 3:30PM Central today get a free custom slip made just for these knives. Didn't have enough for every knife, so cut it off at that.
Wow they crossed the "pond" pretty fast! Oh yeah. I lke the "dealer mark." An unexpected nice touch!

I bought the one with wood covers I hope it looks like the one in the pictures because IMO it sure is pretty.

Snagged a CF version earlier today. I'm hoping this Barlow is a harbinger of more 'modern traditionals' to come. knifeswapper knifeswapper : does LionSteel have any plans to make this kind of knife a regular part of their catalog going forward?

The knife says "CK edition", so I would think that there may be a "Non-CK edition".

Though they may come with a lower end alloy, "lesser than" handle materials, or who knows what other changes may be in the works. I would be willing to bet that they are going to be looking for feedback and user reports on how it is received, how it works, what changes might be sought-after, et al.

As much as I'd be proud to own one of a limited run, I'd rather see this knife and others like it become evergreen bestsellers. A 'vanilla' version with less expensive materials might just be the knife to make that happen. I mean, as long as LionSteel has the tooling figured out, why not? I'd buy it again with a clip point! Kudos and thanks for making it happen in the first place.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that one... Not many companies are ethically challenged enough to take a collaborators project and re-market it around them - which it seems as if you are implying.

Nickel silver and 440C wouldn't knock $10 off the knife - so why ??

knifeswapper knifeswapper they really do look amazing. I can't wait for mine to arrive. I will have to try and get a video up for everyone to see before they are all gone!

The M390 is what intrigued me about this knife. With "lesser" materials, it would be just another knife. I would have clicked on this thread just once. I would like to have the option of the M390 with a clip.

Just ordered a Ram's Horn (from the 'maybe' list) to join my CF! I have a friend who might take my Stag 'maybe'. Right now I have some knives to sell :D

They are outstanding. I have fondled many since getting them in yesterday. They still are not getting a water-tight backspring like GEC; but A) you can't tell from the outside, only looking into the frame with light in the background brings it out, and B) The snap seems only slightly perceivably (not a word) lighter on the production run (I changed it from a 6 to a 5). But, as a traditional guy, I have to stand back and look at it from a modern factory standpoint. The action is silky smooth and I haven't found one with a problem yet.

Sweet, can't wait for you to order the clips with the modular secondary blade add on! ;)
Lets not forget the screw on bolster change outs, copper, brass, steel, micarta...lots of possibilities.

We'll leave the endless possibilities to those with a better imagination.

This was quite a project, Mike, I'm glad they turned out well. Very much looking forward to seeing my ram's horn! Thanks for all the work in making this happen!

I was more sling the lines of saying that this version is akin to a Sprint in the Spyderco world.

Standard model, but with some upgrades and released in small batches.

Been looking forward to get this one in hand. They all have unique look to them, hard to choose just one. Thanks for getting this one done.

knifeswapper knifeswapper Is there maybe a bigger picture of them we could see and drool over? Even just a bigger version of the one on the preorder page would be great.
