Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

The closest thing to a complaint I have is, while decently sharp, I started to touch up the edge to get it where I like it. I'm not used to such hard steel, and I had to take a break before getting frustrated. I'll get back to it in a little while.

My experience has been while M390 isn't more difficult to sharpen, it certainly takes longer to sharpen. Also takes longer to dull too, I think you'll notice that when you use it for a whole day.

Another ram's horn checking in. I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted light or dark, textured or smooth horn, but I was secretly hoping for light horn. Totally pleased with what I got. Nail nick on both sides is a fantastic feature.

That's gorgeous Tomboy.

Mine didn't arrive today...
It is sat in the local hub for 8+ hours today... I Might have it tomorrow.

Chip, did you mean the pile side by any chance? I think the mark side looks best but both sides are very nice. Some of these really do look like Elk. I can see how that was misconstrued.

Lol, nope...I like more texture ;) But that's pretty funny, if you had a stag with more texture on the mark side we could totally trade covers :)

Got out the KME today, profiled and sharpened the CF. Now I truly love it.
I can't get over how smooth and comfortable this knife is to use, it puts everything else I have to shame. I've also noticed I haven't used the nail nicks, it pinches open beautifully.
No safe queen it went straight to my pocket and it's not coming out.

With the amount of variation shown in the Rams Horn, I would feel absolutely safe ordering a second one and getting two different sets of scales.

@knifeswapper
Do you think it could be possible for LionSteel to produce slabs and sell them as a single or sets?
1 set of slabs for $30-40
2 for $70

It would offer some quick customization, and temporary bump in income for LionSteel with no increase needed for tooling or labor. If anything, it would be less labor to knock out slabs alone.

with this not being a regular production knife im not sure making scales for it would be very profitable long term. Wonder how many were made?

We may run these again on a whim, so these are just first run counts.
Original Production Count:
Wood: 200
Stag: 120
Horn: 165
Abalone: 50
Carbon Fiber: 180
The counts are right here.

From the sounds of the quoted post, this is likely the only run planned as of right now. Hopefully, that changes and we get a definitive answer one way or another, preferably a Yes.

I know it's probably a bit early, but it does appear that these knives are a considerable success. Hopefully, it is enough of a success that it will encourage future runs. I've been rather impressed with the pictures and the feedback so far.

Got my carbon fiber and palo santo today. Seriously, there is not a mark or blemish on these knives! They are almost too perfect. Ok ok. I am not complaining about being so perfect. I think if you are a traditional guy, you owe to yourself to try one and see for yourself. These things are perfect fit and finish. But I knew they would be really good fit and finish because Loin Steel is known for this and I own a few of their modern folders. I think Mike should not forget this line and in the future revisit it with new variants. Of course I have no idea if they are a good seller or not but they should be!!
