Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

Update:
I couldn't wait any longer, so I went to my local post office and claimed my prize.

Nice blonde and honey tones with some character and translucency. I am a happy camper.

ETA:
Thanks Mike Latham ( knifeswapper knifeswapper ) for making this a possibility.
That is perfect. I am torn between the light and dark, love them both. I have a dark.. almost want to buy another and see if I can get one of each. Yours is gorgeous.

I got two of these - I have no mechanical complaints. I love the carbon fiber, it's done well. My ram's horn is done bad, IMO. There's a torx screw that is sticking out, the slabs are very mismatched, and I'm generally disappointed. I know Mike will take care of it, however, ram's horn was very important to me. I just hope there's another for me to have.

Outside of the ram's horn - on mine - the knives themselves are done well. It took a second for me to get why the knife felt so familiar in hand. It reminds me of an ALOX. Albeit, an ALOX on steroids, but similar in size and shape.

In the end, this knife is a game changer. I 'think' lionSTEEL needs more practice, but they sure came out swinging hard. Moreover, I dislike the etch, get rid of that, and just stick to tang stamps. M390 with CK101 on the other side would have been perfect, IMO.
My Rams horn is not matched in terms of texture pattern per side but I just assumed that was a normal part of the material. Personally it doesn't bother me at all, I just love how it feels. Really great worry stone at work : )

Lets see it!!

I have one torx that is sticking up slightly on one side (on the bolster), sort of like it was cross threaded. I will be disassembling it later to check it out...

I'm on vacation in CA. Can't wait to get home and find my CF in the mail box. And how great is it that there is one complaint and Mike is right on top of it?

Little bit of oil* and some time idly rubbing my thumb across the scales like a worry stone while watching Netflix has evened out the color and texture a bit and now I like it more than I did before. Much less of the jarring bright white spots in the middle of the dark rough spots.

Top is brand new outta the box. Bottom is after an evening of Netflix.

The color reminds me of peanut butter hard candy. :D

*Ok, it wasn't oil, but Burt's Bees vanilla lip balm because that's what I had within reach.

No surprise that the knife is perfect but the pocket slip is a great complement to it! Soft, thin and just a little bigger than the knife but not too tight that it's a struggle to get it in and out (Fantoni City Dweller). A pleasant surprise.

I believe the slip sheath was only included with pre-orders.

Wow I am surprised. Mike went through every one, I think, and he has a good eye for any flaws.

I'm seriously considering getting the abalone shell one as well. It looks so amazing. I think I might order another ram's horn from Mike at CK to see if I get a better textured one.

I agree with the fit of the ramshorn. I'm not displeased with it but it's far from perfection. I don't think it's anything I'd return the knife over though. I also would have preferred a stamp to the etching.

Overall I think the knife is a strong win. Compared to the similarly priced Benchmade Proper you're getting titanium bolsters/liners and M390. The Proper has S30V, not that it is bad but I really like M390.

The Roundhead and Proper are both a bit weak on the backspring compared to my other traditionals. I would say the Roundhead is ever so slightly weaker than my Propers.
But blade closing has a very nice thank sound!

The "Sure" reservations that picked one up before 3:30PM Central today get a free custom slip made just for these knives. Didn't have enough for every knife, so cut it off at that.

Mike's post about who got slips ^

Love the ram's horn I received. As mentioned earlier, the screws (on the presentation side) covers are not as deeply countersunk as on the pile side, but, quite frankly, this doesn't bother me in the slightest. Very nice knife.

After more time with mine I have found 1 minor complaint on one side, forget what is the show side and such, the Torx screws are showing signs of stripping and have a rough texture when rub my fingers across them. I do see the light through it as other mention but that isn't something I can feel and only see if you are scrutinizing every detail of it but it doesn't bother so no real complaint on the light. knifeswapper knifeswapper can I get a set of replacement screws for the stripped ones beyond that mine is perfect.
