Look what someone found

Well, what do you count as "a little bit"?

Also, isn't that why Buck would stand behind the troops in the first place? For some good PR?

I guess times have changed. I would expect all companies in the USA to gear up for the War effort. They would do it because they wanted to help Our side, like in WWII. Times have changed.

Michelle, that last post is pretty confusing. You seem to be trying to quote several people in one post and interspersing your own comments, but it's not at all clear to me who said what.

It's hard to know how to help you without knowing which editor you're using ... there are three editor options at Bladeforums. The editor I use has a quote button that looks like this:
quote.gif
If you highlight the portion of your post that's a quote and click that, the highlighted text will appear as a quote. Then at least we'll know you didn't write that part....

Sorry. Fixed. I hit the quote button but must've deleted some of the syntax of the original [quote = ] .

Spark, were you approached by Lynn Thomson to use your Strider material for the Cold Steel site? And did you agree to that?

Thank you.

That's a good question, because the original CS posting linked to postings on Tactical Forums..... then 24 hours later, after the news broke of this being on CS's site, the original pointer to TF was replaced with "Full Summary" and linking to here. I have the original post as well as the new one. So, either Kevin McClung didn't want to be linked to (which I find hard to believe because he LOVES the publicity and traffic on his site), or somehow Lynn was advised of the stuff here. Question of the day is did he ask for and recieve permission to link to here, or was he maybe even advised and invited to link here?

A. Would I buy a Strider knife because it's maker is a "Black Ops" killer?

B. Would I buy Cold Steel Knives because their seller is a master of self-defense and a master-hunter and skinner?

C. Would I buy Busses because their grinder is a drunk?

Answers:

A. I never liked the look of the sharpend slab-o-steel with paracord wrap knives offered by Strider knives so I didn't buy one. Even after handling some the didn't grab me. His legend was of no import and unknown to me.

B. I was impressed with the look of some of the Cold Steel knives and was entertained by the exploits of LT told in his adds. The straight and folding knives I got from CS performed within the parameters of the use intended for them by me so I would still buy a CS knife if the urge struck me. Do I base my like of CS knives on LT's image and videos? I have met him at Blade a few times and enjoyed hearing his tales for a while but it's not hard to tell that he is a bit of a blowhard. I don't buy the knives because of LT but because they do what I expect of them.

C. God, I love that man! Grind on you drunken fool!

And so it goes.....

for a short time the USA was the ruler of the world....

Then the silly little bitches learned what it is to have a real Ruler.....

Does LT legally need permission from Spark to post links to BladeForums threads on his website? I personally doubt that links are covered by the copyright. If they were then search engines could not legally provide links to any copyrighted website without first getting permission.

Hi Keith,

Kevin Jon Schlossberg has done nothing that should cause fear in him.

In fact, he is brave and should feel proud of presenting facts in a fair manner even when it was unpopular.

Steve

Never owned a CS. Have read a bit of the goings on is a few threads. I'm kinda new to this knife community but one thing has struck me as a constant. The group here at Blade Forums has something that I find critical when I lay my money down for a knife. Integrity. The way I see it, that is the crux of the back and forth here. I will never lay one red cent down on a CS product. Not if it's the best knife in the world. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think he would have to ask permission, technically, because of the public domain issues that are outside the scope sometimes of copyright. That's not to say that it isn't a common courtesy in the industry, to request permission, especially if the results of you linking to someone else has the potential to cause a huge increase in traffic/bandwidth. Some providers place bandwidth limitations on a site, and if you exceed those, it can be a pretty penny of a fine. I would hope that any time someone else's actions are going to potentially take a hit to someone elses web site/server/bandwidth, that they would clear it first with the person they are linking too. I think Spark deserved a heads up before it was done is all. Curious as to whether he got one.

As a Strider fanboy, I've always been a fan of this picture:
BustedRecon720.jpg

My brother is here with me. He has 3 Engineering Degrees, last is Doctorate. He says that they should look up the term "stress riser". He says that it is in the first 3 chapters of the first book.

Darlin' :) ,

The first book that they give you when you go to College to study Engineering.

BTW, nice to see you also Michelle.

what does this mean? sorry i must be confused.

Well, to explain that would be a little too complicated....

Here is the short form....

After WWII the USA was the most powerful country in the world. Due to several reasons that power got pissed away.

The current (majority) generation thinks that they are superior because they are nonviolent and pacifist. They think that they are superior to the stupid service people who are fighting the war now. That is shown by the last elections and will be shown by who gets in after Bush.

And the companies are abandoning the USA as fast as they can. Camillus is the most recent one.

And this all was (or was not) caused by CS, EKI, BF or ??????? This subject is hard enough to follow without a sidetrack for a Neocon rant.

Hi Steve! :)

I didn't ask the question (about the book), n00b3r did.

Nevertheless it is nice to see you too! Today was one of the prettiest days Texas has offered up lately. I hope you were out there enjoying it like I was. I just came in from 5 hours on a private outdoor range.....gotta go clean the guns. Life is good. :)

Take care,
