Amen! I ran an eBay store for two years and specified I would accept PayPal (preferred), money order or certified check. In two years I only had a couple customers send checks. I believe PayPal increases sales as well as offering great protection. It's more convenient for buyer and seller and the buyers get their product more quickly.

It really does increase business. Personally, I've wanted a JK Kephart for a while, but I've never actually ordered one, because I cant send paypal.

I have to agree about getting a PayPal account- It would pay for itself pretty quickly with new sales from folks like me that would buy one (or more) of your knives if it didn't involve the hassle of a money order.

Paypal also makes printing out postage a lot easier. Once the buyer pays, you can immediately print out a label and receipt. As far as making up for fees, if you raise your prices $5.00 or so per knife, I don't think it will drive off buyers and it covers what you would typically lose in the transaction.

I don't need help setting one up. oh, you did not mean me?

A couple of words of caution about paypal. There are charges associated with each transaction and there can be "takeback" from the account. This an be especially bad if you have already withdrawn the money.

I use paypal and have it linked to a non primary account. Read carefully the terms of use.

Most people use it without incident, but a couple of folks have had trouble.

I will be available until around 11:00 PST if you want to call, I will walk you through it.

Since I have not had a reply from in almost a month, after repeated emails and PM`s, I have my doubts.

First I am sorry to hear that you still have not received your payment.

I will chime in on this ONLY because I have dealt with this guy before and had some issues. I had a Busse for Sale on Ebay, I recieved a message from this guy asking if I give a Military Discount..? I reply that I am a USMC Vet and if he wins the Auction then I am sure we can work something out. The Auction ends without hitting my Reserve. A couple of days later I get a private email from him asking about the knife, I told him what my Reserve was and he stated that he would take it.

A week goes by, then two... so I email him and ask where the payment is.. he stated that he had not gotten a chance to get to the PX to get a MO as he was doing something with his Unit (he was in the Air Force at the time and usually they have a PX pretty handy anywhere they are), but he stated that he would get the payment out ASAP. Another week and no payment, I send another message and he responds that he had found another Busse that he wanted so he purchased that one.

Oh Well, I'm like an elephant (not that I am fat with Big ears...;) ) I just have a LONG memory.

Again, sorry to hear of your trouble. I do feel you did the right thing by posting it hear.

I expect MadBorder will appear hear sometime with a long winded military type non-excuse.... but this isn't the first time he has done something like this so....

John,
I am thankful you had the courage to go forward with this even though posting something here is not your style. In so doing, you are squarely putting the ball in "madborderman's" court. How he responds or does not respond will impact his future here on BF.

Also, in posting here, as I mentioned to you before, you have no doubt kept someone else from falling prey to him. Had you said nothing, that might not be the case.

I have not dealt with this fellow at all. I hope that even though things are not looking good right now, he will appear on scene and make things right post haste. If he comes here, but chooses to ignore this thread, or chooses to not make this right, then you can pursue the matter in other ways. Let's sit back and see what turns up.

I had a big Busse liquidation sometime back and madborderman emails me about wanting to buy several of my knives. At first it was 3 knives. He kept changing his mind and narrowed it down to 2 then finally 1 knife. I waited for his final confirmation and never got it. Sent him a few more emails and he finally decided that he did not want it. It was no big deal for me because I did not lose anything other than time communicating with the guy.

But this is a different story. He is a thief if he does not pay for the knife that you sent him.

It is also a big coincidence that he is the same guy that a few of us donated a Busse Meaner Street to sometime back. Steelnut contacted a few of us through PM about a military guy wanting to buy his MS but did not have the cash. He had an idea about getting a few guys together to chip in and buy the knife for said person. I believe a few of us chipped in 30 something odd dollars to buy madborderman that MS. I did not even realize it was him until I did a search for his handle in my email today.

It just makes me sick to think that I donated something to a thief. I hope he has the balls to make it right and pay you for the knife.

Yep, and I recall that not so long after we gave him the knife, he came back to the world and was buying on the Exchange. That kind of annoyed me, but I figured that his situation had improved.

I hope he doesn't hold on to the Koster he has from the pass-around.

I PM'd Dan about it earlier. Hopefully all of this will be set right. But I feel like there is a pattern emerging.

OK,who wants to email a feeble minded old man, and explain how to get set up for paypal?

E-mail me if you need help my man.

I'm local as you know. I can ride on down and help you set it up there.

Whatever you need.

John, if this situation is not resolved to your satisfaction, be sure to leave appropriate feedback on iTrader.

I sent Jesse an email directing him to this thread. Let's see if he responds.

Man that sucks big time. I wouldn't ship unless I had the money in my hands. It's hard to trust people nowadays, I learned to use either paypal or MO in my hand before shipping anything out. My only exception is if I've done business with the person before regardless of iTrader, if I haven't done business personally, then they just have to wait.

There's a good bunch of people here Stomper, we'll getcha a paypal setup and hound this guy

I cant believe this guy convinced you guys to buy him a MS. Look at his collection.

I went to these sites NorCal. I am sick. Some might say the evidence is just mounting, but I am convinced already.... this man is a characterless thief. He belongs in no employment that would pay him enough to afford these knives. He is untrustworthy and shameless, and a danger to our country with sensitive information that might be available to him if he is indeed in the military. Disgusting.
