madborderman07

are you guys sure this guy is really in the military?

i guess they make more now than 20 yrs ago, but he sure has a lotta stuff for an enlisted man, i know i couldnt afford stuff like that in the day lol,

hope it works out, this is not cool at all.

Sounds like you have on your hands, a mooch. Spends every bit of money they have and a little more, then preys off the kindness of others.

** Snipped** First I am sorry to hear that you still have not received your payment.
I expect MadBorder will appear hear sometime with a long winded military type non-excuse.... but this isn't the first time he has done something like this so....

Yup, he has been sick with malaria, leukemia, cancer, Diabetes, the Gout and the runs and just could not get to the Post Office.
Then to top it off developed severe Arthritis and could not type on a keyboard. That, along with Alzheimers and Cataracts made him forget he had the knife and now he is too blind to find a pen!!

The Docs wanted to put him in a Nursing home to recover but he's a real man and decided to recover at home.:rolleyes: When he awoke from the coma caused by an anal IED inserted by the CIA he was told about this thread and planned to respond...............but then forgot!:jerkit:

Our whole life on these forums is built on trust. Believing what people tell us about themselves and that they are true to their word. When someone takes that trust and cr*ps all over it, I can see how that could hit a guy hard.
Only thing I can say is think of all the great deals and transactions you've had before this incident. Also that we (Your other knife owners) respect you and your work a lot.

It looks like I`m not the only one he "took for a ride." Seeing all of this makes me feel like I`m not totally stupid.

I still say the guy is not a thief. Dumbass maybe...:cool::cool:
I think it more likely that he ran into an embarrassing case of the shorts.
Stomper not having paypal meant that he could not put it on a credit card....

Waffling on those other deals is in bad form, but does not make him a thief.
Annoying yes, but still a far cry from thief.

I organized the knife for a soldier in Iraq deal as a way to show appreciation and support for one of our guys in harms way. He did not ask for it, I offered.
The fact that he joined the our herd and started a nice Busse collection is no surprise to me.

What is going on here with Stomper is wrong and I hope it is resolved quickly.
He should pay with interest on the deal.

Anyone else jumping on the bandwagon here should take a second and give the guy the benefit of the doubt,
if for no other reason than his service to this country.
Any number of things could be going on here, injury for example.

He had time to post on the forums on November 12th, so he has had time to at least email me, or reply to my pm. He has done neither.

I hope you didn't get screwed John. He was last on BF on 11-18. Maybe he will show up and rectify this. Sorry all this happened.
Andy

Steelnut,
Your kindness and defense of this guy is somewhat admirable yet it is missing a couple of important things. I don;t fault you for this but it is nonetheless an oversight (in my opinion...with all due respect). Your organizing a gift for one America's heroes is commendable.

- Yes, he is a thief. He has accepted a knife and reneged on a promise to pay. Now, you are right that something could be wrong that we don;t know about, but I'm betting otherwise. In absence of some form of payment to Stomper, an email, a letter, or a phone call with an explanation and an apology would take him out of the thief category and bump him up to loser or just slightly above. No, kind sir, veteran and war hero that he may be, he remains a thief;

- IF he sends the knife back to Stomper, my opinion of him would be elevated to an inconsiderate a**hole;

- IF he ends up sending payment, however late, my opinion would be elevated to a characterless man (which is part of my current opinion - sans thief).

As it stands, if we accept the facts as printed by Stomper, et al, in this thread, then......... he is a thief.

Let us not make excuses for those who do wrong; nor shall we redefine or invent new names for persons and things whose definitions we already know to be defined.

It is wrong. If problems arise, communication should be top priority. We all know problems in life happen, but you still need to keep other party informed. Thats bad mannors. Soldiers have high integrety for the most part, and he knows better. I hope this turns out well, John is a very generous, and dear friend of mine. It pisses me off that he is not getting the respect he deserves.

If he dont pay up, I will chip my money in, as I understand what its like to depend on the little amount of money you get. It really tightens up when your paychecks get messed with. People dont understand that to some of these makers, THIS is their job. THIS is their paycheck. Messed up, just messed up.

Well, I am very disappointed. He was logged on and I sent him an immediate message to check this thread. He is gone now, with no response. Very, very disappointing.

Does anybody know if there is a precedence for banning someone because they are a thief?

IIRC, "Ann Dem" (Vlad, or whatever the name was) was one such person, but I think the theft there was on a much grander scale.

I think what we have is;

- A clear trend of poor/non communication (spanning several months).
- A clear trend of Disrespect/Lying - I'll Take It", followed by No Comms, then followed by "Sorry but I won't Take It" (spanning several months).
- Two documented cases of using his alleged Military status to either Gain Discounts/Sympathy and accepting Gifts from BF Members under dubious circumstances.
- All culminating in a clear Case of Thievery.

Oh, and By the By, I can only suppose that he is still in possession of a PassAround knife?

Is this adequate evidence for Banning?

IMO - You Bet.

Can sombody give me a hand with this?:grumpy::grumpy:

I am sure that he has received at least a few PMs to respond to the thread. Yet, he chooses to ignore and avoid because he cannot come up with a good explanation.

First he orders the knife. Then he starts to have second thoughts. Right then and there he should have been man enough to cancel the order and apologize. We all sometimes bite off more than we can chew and that is understandable. Yet, he continues forward and ask for the knife to be sent and does not pay. :mad:
