Magnamax Official Release Announcement

Realistically… it will be at least 6-12 months before we start seeing this filtering into the production world.

Does this have the same export controls applied as magnacut did / does?
Some production companies already have it and should be releasing before Blade. It’ll be controlled like MagnaCut. The difference this time is Niagara went ahead with trademark and patent protection, so enforcement should be a lot easier, especially when people point out anything that looks off.

I'm going to twist my own arm this time to be patient and wait to hear how the heat treat goes. I don't need another lower vs higher fight again. Or who is doing what. Or maybe just wait for Spyderco to do their release.

I’ve seen the new Gaurdian Tactical OTF and the Protech-Chaves collab are already using MagnaMax! I can’t wait to get a Hinderer in MM 😁

I remember the almost religious craze when Magnacut first became a thing. Unheard of makers and models became common knowledge because they dared to work with the (presumedly) magical stuff. :p

As a fan of Magnacut, I'm curious to see how this goes.

What is the rating for MagnaMax in Toughness, Edge Retention and Corrosion Resistance? I am enjoying Magnacut. So if it's better I am interested.

cant wait to get this steel on some of my favorite brands of folders. spyderco, pro-tech, shiro. all three have amazing heat treat protocols, cant wait to see what they can do with this.

Magnacut on steroids, or is it vanadium? This is quite an achievement considering how long steel has been made. D2 has been around over a century.

Tougher than S35VN, while retaining an edge nearly as well as S110V. I'd say that is quite an accomplishment.

It won't move MagnaCut or my favorite tool steels out of my pocket, but it will certainly receive consideration for future purchases.
