make your choice ! survival folder...

Vic Farmer/Vic Outrider/Vic OHT and my all time favourite locking folder - Buck 110 :)

not 2 knives ...just one
im having trobubles myself with this choice, its betwen the military and buck 110, but il stick with the military as my final decision.

So thats one folder with no fixed blade and no axe/hatchet/tomahawk/machete?
Are you excluding multi-tools?

If a SAK qualifies as a folder within your questions parameters then i would choose a Victorinox Swisschamp.
Its bulky compared to thinner saks but it has the necessary knife/scissors/saw/canopener plus small pliers and oodles of other useful stuff. (For me SAK pliers are as much plier as i need most of the time).
The Swisschamp has more tools than most multi-tools and is substantially lighter and yet still strong.
IMO it has the most utility per ounce of any multi-tool/SAK.

i would choose Spyderco Chinook, but i dont have one, so i would bring my Military. " i trsut this knife, thats all i need by my side":D

SAK's are good choices, but they do have more than just a blade.
i was thinking more of one blade no tools knife, that you will have to make your own tools using the knife you have, and your ideas :D
yet i dont dismiss the SAK's, you would have more options with it, like no worries about the blade tip breaking somehow, because you will be using screwdriver heads for jobs that would require some prying, you l be making holes with an awl, you l have a small saw instead of having to 'chop' or deep carving ...in all the SAK is a good survival tool IMO, but if you could just stick to one blade folder would be great... but that again the choice is yours

Any SAK with a saw. Otherwise I'd take a BM Griptilian. From some reason I work well with that knife :)

For a one blade folder, it would be my Oak handled BG-42 Custom Shop Buck 110.

Schrade Old Timer 7OT

I forgot to add in 'at first glance.' I just got my 60t back from siguy yesterday. They look alot alike. I take it you have both? Any real differences in performance, etc?

My 7OT is a early one with a 1095 carbon steel blade. My steel of choice. And, to me,it takes a finer edge.

My 6OT is ,of course, Schrade+ stainless. Later 7OT knives have a Schrade+ steel blade. But the 6OT is noticeably lighter. If my 7OT wasn't carbon I would choose the 6OT based on weight.

Ohhh...I see...when I compare it to the Buck 110 (my choice) it certainly is lighter than the smaller blade.

Well, this will never happen...I always have at least two folders and a SAK and/or multi-tool with me; and I carry a fixed blade most of the time as well:D:D

Now, from my collection, it would be either (no particular order):

1) Sebenza
2) Benchmade Rukus
3) Benchmade Mini Rukus
4) Spyderco Manix
5) Emerson CQC-12
6) Benchmade/Ritter RSK-1
7) Benchmade 710
8) Benchmade HK 14205
9) Hinderer XM-18
10) Spyderco Military
11) TOPS 747
12) ZT-0301
13) Emerson CQC-8
14) Emerson CQC-13

Just a few I rotate for carry on a daily basis and any one of them I'd feel comfortable with in a tough situation whether it's outdoors, an urban area or even Iraq. I would prefer a decent frame lock, backlock or axis/rolling lock; a liner lock from a reputable manufacturer would be the few I trust.
