make your choice ! survival folder...

For me it would be my old Puma 970 Game Warden given to me by my father in the early 70's.I like this knife so much i've picked up three more over the years plus three of the fancier Stag version the 910 Prince any one of them will do what ever i need a knife to do to get me home .

I've put my griptilian through quite a bit lately. Though it's not full liners, I like it very much. I just ordered a Ritter grip to give it a try. I might pick my Leather Xti over it though if I wanted multi-function.

Vic Farmer in the woods

Leatherman in the city

I want a saw in the woods and I want a pair of pliers in the city.

Vic Farmer also, but I do want to get a 1 handed trecker as well. Locking blade would be nice to have.

Do all survival folder? I'd have to choose my Leatherman Wave!

as for a single bladed, OP #12. it is basically a fixed blade that folds. (if that makes sense)

I assume you mean the Opinel 12. Its probably the best folder for batoning I can think of. If I once took down an olive tree 5" in diamiter with one. Just don't lock it or the ring will fly off

not 2 knives ...just one
im having trobubles myself with this choice, its betwen the military and buck 110, but il stick with the military as my final decision.

Ooops...I ment Vic or Buck 110.Sorry:)
If it has to be a one blade folder - then the 110 for sure.

I have an old Buck 112. What's the difference between that and a Buck 110?

The 112 is smaller.
How about the CS Rajah "folding khukri" :D:D:D

Lately I've been doing the Griptillian. Not a bad little knife.

Vic Rucksack or the Wenger Ranger... i don't remember the model number but it has the very same tools than the Rucksack but a tad bigger.

I like the Wenger more really... once propertly sharpened you get a bit more of blade. It lacks the toothpick and the tweezers but i can live without them.

I like the 112 personally the slightly smaller grip fits my hand well..and this may just be my opinion but the slipped portion of the blade on the 112 seems proportionately smaller making the tip slightly less prone to breaking... Both lock up like tanks..and are great.

Hands down my Ka-Bar MULE.
It's big, beefy, tough as, well, as a mule.
I've beat the hell out of mine and it's still tight and ready for action. It's the only folder I EDC.

take a pick
the folder you wish you had with you in a survival situation, but not depending on what that situation may be...
just what is the folder you would bet yor life on, regardless of situation

There isn't, there has never been and never will be a folder that I will come anywhere even remotely near to betting my life on in any situation, much less regardless of situation.

If I was in a survival situation and could wish for a knife, it certainly would never be a folder.

But, if there was no choice except some folder, then I might as well take a SAK Ranger. I'm used to that thing, and it has some rather useful tools like the saw and awl which would be of benefit. And the fact it has two blades doesn't hurt, either.
