March BOTM <117 COCOBOLO 154CM>

My money says it's only a matter of time before the 117 becomes part of the catalog.
maybe. although depends who is making the calls to run what, to run on what lines. obviously sales has a huge factor, but to board members they may see the 117 and 102 as basically the same knife. we know better, and they may too, who knows.......

The 117 would be better with a flat grind and no fuller as standard features. Otherwise it is kind of lost in the 102/105/121/119 medley, no real unique character to stand apart.

edited afterthought.... It just seems like someone is always wishing for a flat grind and personal taste says that while a fuller looks OK on the larger 119, that skinny fuller looks out of place on the 117... so better looks and an alternative choice for others.... win win.... :):):)

Did you pick up a no fuller 119?

I have to say that I am feeling some "reverse buyer's remorse" on this one. I had plenty of time to pick one up, but decided to pass. Now I am second guessing that decision. Again - Congratulations to those who grabbed one! (And for the record I do have a stacked leather version....so the situation is not that bad.)

Mine has arrived.

O.B.

This obsession with boxes is ridiculous. If you can’t store them throw them away.

I collect knives not boxes.

Yes I know they add value when you sell. But how much value? It’s not worth me saving 100’s of boxes because I might sell one or two knives someday.

My storage space is at a premium, and I don’t have room for boxes. Boxes give me no pleasure or satisfaction in any way.

Mine showed up today after being lost in transit a couple days. Very nice knife, the 117 is one of my favorites. Fit and finish excellent. I agree and echo that they should be put back into production (I also agree about 5160 versions as well). Happy Friday all.:thumbsup:

Mine arrived too a few days ago, after going AWOL for a few days with USPS... what's up with that? It seems like every shipment I get from Buck takes a weird twist enroute, that other Priority Mail shipments don't.

Anyway, I really like that the wood tone is darker than other Cocobolo handled knives I've been purchasing from Buck's website this past year.
