Moving on... In regards to your quote, why are you pulling in this ridiculous argument? The "media", whichever one(s) your are referring to, is not "trashing the troops". Some specific media outlets are trashing the present administrations' strategy. Keep your story and metaphors straight. Your misinformed comparison doesn't belong here. If you don't agree, shoot me a PM, but this thread doesn't need yet another meaningless tangent. In fact, I suggest it be locked and move on.

Words have meaning, and many poor choices have only polarized the issue without any positive outcome. This negative intrusion into lives is affecting real people. It is not the internet for some. It is real.

A divorce lawyer.........now thats a joke in itself. Maybe we should start a thread about how worthless (although they all seem to think they are geniuses) and a dime a dozen lawyers are.
 
As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and a Vietnam vet - my only question is: Are his knives any good?

That "outting" wasn't the point. I quit ahead of that development. For years, anyone with a modicum of intelligence wouldn't have had to work too hard to sniff me out IRL. Like a lot of people also claim, I'm pretty tight with the people in my life who matter.

To take some mystery out of my abandoning the fight, it took a wise man to remind me that the vitriol I was putting into the situation wasn't what I had ever been about before.

There is a point of diminishing returns in all efforts. This one probably reached that point before page ten.

Mick Strider's critics have made their points. People can judge for themselves what to believe. Mick Strider, by his own admission has exiled himself from the internet. The people who like and trust SKI's products will continue to do so, those that don't won't.

I am not digging anymore. I don't want to be the Church Lady, looking for Mick and a gun. I don't want his unredacted DD-214.

There is a line between making your case and persecution. That line has been scuffed if not crossed.

That' ain't me, so to thine ownself be true and all of that.

I apologize to everyone for losing my sense of myself and becoming a monster.

That apology also extends to Mick Strider, FWIW.

One last thing: If you don't believe Kit Carson can be influential to anyone with service in their background, you ain't too bright.
 
Next thing you know, he will be accused of adding "ancient chinese secrets" to his knives. People will findout that a GB won't remove ring around the collar and Mick is not chinese and we will start all over again.

This is wretched.

And yes, the knives are good working knives. I prefer the folders. I am not as big a fan of the fixed blade. I really like the GBs.

Very, very good. Built like a tank, backed by a warranty. I buy them because they work good. That's it. I have no interest in dragging thru the past one more time. But if you wanna talk about a solid performer with good looks, I'm happy to talk about my SNG.

I second that. The knives are really good. I'm not OK with the prices for the cord wrapped knives, but that is just my humble opinion. (I don't force anyone to agree with me!) The folders on the other hand are outstanding and worth their money. (again, my opinion) The designs are unique and also - outstanding.
Just don't get into the hype. Sometimes the blade isn't centered and the finish needs attention - the rough finish is a rust-magnet. Fanatic Strider fans might say I'm bashing them now, but I'm just objective here. It's no real problem, but better don't mention the issues near the hooligans. ;)
 
I don't get all the fuss, the man may or may have not lied about things. Only he and God knows the truth. I don't know him, I have some of his knives. They are some of the best out there. I don't know about you guys, but if I have a problem with someone I go to that person and have it out. I believe his work address is on his website. This is my first post with this name but I have been here awhile under the name 4GD. Get a life, and talk knives not drama.

Unless Kit threatened to twist your neck into a pretzel, I am quite surprised it took 4000 words for him to tell you you are full of shiit.

Or Kit has lost his touch!!!!

I respect Kit more than many men I have actually met. Kit is one smart guy.

But 4000 words is close to the Magna carta!!!!!
 
Maybe he spoke reasonably and passionately- like an honorable man appealing to another's reason- without resorting to insulting Boats as so many are doing in this thread.

Yup! You hit the nail on the head. It sounds like too many purchased his tales of daring do along with his knives; and, they are now dissappointed that the recent revelations have ruined the little movie that played only in their minds. How can mine be Excalibur if our King Arthur is but a fraud. It doesn't matter that the knife function well, if it no longer plays to our fantasies.

Trace, I don't have a dog in this fight either. I don't know the man and don't really have an opinion one way or another on his knives. And I do agree that this discussion has run its course. To that end, it will be my last post on the subject.
