Reminds me of a Smock.

Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
Yes, this has a finger choil which will work nicely with the larger size. I like my smock but it's small for some jobs, and the back end of the blade can sometimes catch what I'm trying to cut. Having that profile with a choil at a larger size would be great.Reminds me of a Smock.
I think its primary attribute is adding $70 to the MSRPI look forward to this, the blade shape looks very functional. I wonder what exactly their secret sauce version of M390 is?
Excuse me sir, would you like a blade with your choil?

I may buy a standard issue, has a lot of features I like, and I'm sure I can get a deep carry clip for it. I wish it didn't have the choil, but its not an egregious one like the above.
Glad you love Wharncliffe's but this knife has a curve to the cutting edge. Kinda a modified Sheepsfoot to my eye. Nowadays, who knows what patterns are called with all the mods to classic blade shapes. Thanks for posting! Was not aware of this.
This looks like such a great utilitarian design. Love wharncliffes! Microtech always comes out with such great designs.
I just HOPE TO GOD that this new tweaked M390 somehow overcomes the issues with edge retention that plague the industry at large.
From what I've seen, most large scale manufacturers using M390 screw up the HT and we're left with a lot of M390's performance potential left on the table as far as edge retention goes. It's such a shame as they often underperform knives of lesser edge retention potential.
I hope you're able to actuatee it from the top as well as the sides, kinda like a manual version of what they have on the Glykon. It should be doable with the way they have the spring setup, similar to what Benchmade did on the Anthem. I hope the similar setup doesn't cause IP issues with what Benchmade made for the Anthem.
Looks like full steel liners too, I'm really looking forward to this, I'm sure it's going to be a hit
No such thing as IP if it isn’t protected by law. You can only build a mousetrap so many different ways.Microtech would never ever ever misuse another manufacturer's IP
