Microtech bringing out a new manual! Edit- 2 manuals actually!!!!

Definitely in on a stitch. SI may be part of the first responder program.

The steel is very intriguing. I’d like to know what sets it apart from “standard” m390. If they don’t ask belt prices, I may pick one up.
They claim it’s a proprietary steel they worked on with Bohler. Supposed to be easier to polish and have better edge retention. Sounds dubious but we will see. Proprietary steels with companies seem be be becoming a thing with SPY27, Arpm9 and such. While fine steels, they don’t seem to offer much new.

According to the SMKW video these will be available next month!

G10 $250, plastic sub $200

also (the prototypes at least) on bearings

Groovy! The Stitch definitely intrigues and though I see where G10 would likely be most practical for hard use, still partial to their aluminum. Also would have preferred a button lock like on the Malibus. Nonetheless, we'll see what the price-point shall be.

The SI intrigues but hard to see it, or anything for that matter, knocking out the king, The Anax, outa rotation rule.

I watched the Youtube unveil of this. There were a couple of points of note: 1. M390MK is special formulation just for Microtech from Bohler. They are going to talk about it more later, but it's supposed to have better edge retention over M390. 2. The production knife will have a deep carry pocket clip not like the one in the picture.

The MSI is pretty cool. Happy to see the blade steel markings and more manual offerings and Made in USA by Microtech. Looking forward to handling one of these

Maybe I missed it but I don’t fully understand the Ram lok. Seems like axis/compression?

And I’m sure that spring is stronger than omega springs but it looks too exposed. Lint collector for sure and if you dropped that in dirt or sand it would not only gum up the action easy, it would also potentially compromise the lock function.

I’m still intrigued and would pick one up in that price range but I’m not convinced that lock is functionality forward. Seems like they just want to have something different than benchmade/spyderco

It looks identical to the Spyderco ball lock to me. Look at the caged ball on the Manix 2. But I'm all for it if it means more affordable Microtechs. Personally I'm hoping for a Socom with the new lock if they can lower the price.

Yup, hopefully they guage demand well. I'm hoping to snag one, but I have the additional disadvantage of the Canadian border.

I think Microtech is going to have a hard time keeping up with demand at those prices. Made in USA with premium materials for $250 retail is pretty impressive.

Benchmade has been making Axis Lock knives with steel liners and G10 scales for decades... Other than the blade steel, which may or may not be a legit selling point, there's nothing novel to justify it being 50% more than the Ritter RSK.

As to the steel, it has been speculated that the formula was tweaked for better machinability and polishing, which would usually result in lower performance in actual use. Hopefully we'll get clarity at some point, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

It was put up for sale on Microtechs website the other day but sold out in like one minute or something like that.
