Mnandi: My latest Obsession

you know he uses ball bearings to produce that Damascus.

Yep. I actually did know that. Sure would like to see him making a batch, though!

However, I think it may be time to throw a current "state of the collection" shot up on the anniversary day.

High time! Sure like to see "group shots" of Mnandis!

I ended up keeping one Lignum, this one:

Lignum is one of my favorite woods, lots of history attached as well. My dream Mnandi would be a lignum handled, snakeskin bladed Mnandi!

That's a great looking raindrop on that ivory! I mentioned this on another forum .... for some reason, I am really starting to prefer the old pivot caps over the new ones. I know the new design keeps the hardware flush with the inlays .... but there is just something about the old design that appeals to me.

Kinda ironic.....I've passed on several beautiful pieces because of the older style pivot. Not my tea. I want to ad an African Blackwood to my collection but I can't find one with the new style pin. A few just recently sold for a good price and I passed on all three. I recently purchased a Macassar Ebony / Raindrop with the new style pin. Even on that knife I ordered the new style clip because the older style doesn't appeal. Funny, I couldn't stand the new style clip when it first came out.

OK, just getting my feet wet with this photo thing. I just (finally) signed up for a photo host. I took a couple crappy camera phone photos. The photos below don't do them justice. I will get artsy later with the GF's camera (she's got a nice one ;)), and post better picks of the same knives. I always enjoyed the couple "ebony and ivory" photos posted earlier in this thread. I figured I'd ad to it.

Nice ones Big_E, I like the fact that they also have different Damascus patterns, congrats bro.

Big_E,

Really enjoying getting a look at parts of your collection.
The Ebony and Ivory pair are quite lovely, that Box Elder is off the chain!
I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have
