Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Your Lignum is awesome as well. Like that green. My pics are poor compared to how you make that Mnandi pop.

Your mnandi remains one of the most attractive ones I've seen thus far, and I think you've done a fantastic job capturing it. If in fact you have not, I can't imagine how awesome it would look in person.

I have one coming in tomorrow but I think it's the same size as the rest. It would be awesome if they did make the mnandi in different sizes.

Post #109 on page 43 of this thread. You see the pic and the bottom one is bigger.

You had me very confused for a moment there. :)

I think you're referring to this image, which shows up on page 6 for me:

The different sizes are a trick of the camera with the mammoth being placed much closer to the lens than the snakewood. They are the same size, however, as the mnandi only comes in one size.

I love my Mnandi! I'm waiting for my paid membership to kick in to post pics! I do have some questions tho as this is my first mnandi. Does anyone have any tips on how to easily open the mnandi one handed? I'm used to my umnumzaan so the mnandi is a tad smaller. Also how sturdy is the pocket clip, I know its chris reeves but just asking. When i clip it on slacks or dickies, it slides fine. But to jeans or cargos, not so easy and i just dont want to break it or bend the clip!! Let me know if i'm just being paranoid! lol

Don't think you need a paid membership to post pictures. Just use [ img ] tags and a link! I open it by pinching the blade with my middle finger and thumb. I just need to do that to overcome the detent - then I simply use a little bit of thumb pressure on the blade (not even the nail nick) to open it. I'd also be pretty confident in the clip. It's titanium so it's pretty stable. I clip it into everything, from jeans to backpacks (you're being paranoid, the mnandi is a small knife but it can handle quite a lot of use).

Here just uploaded what I do in slow motion so you can see it.

Just wanted to share this one with you guys and gals, what do y'all think?

Great Dino ..... personally, love the lighter shades of Bocote. Would love to have my Spirograph blade on that set of inlays. Sweet.

Cool, thank you worshipntribute! That helped out a lot. I saw another YouTube video that with the older style mnandi, u could use your thumb/nail to open it one handed. Anyone do that still with the newer design?

I was able to, but not with nearly as much ease. Of course it is personal preference, but I like the older style much more.

As some of you know, my main collecting love is Sebs with unique graphics. I really like having something beautiful that no one else has. Just a neat feeling. I can look at some of these Mammoth barks and know there's not another one just like it anywhere. I've done the same thing here, but in a different way. I believe I have the honor of being the custodian of the only matched left-right pair of Honduran Rosewood Mnandis in existance. So let me share that neat feeling with you here...

Thanks to Garrett Weidman and Ganagati for making this possible for me.

You're going to have to work hard to break that clip, and I believe it's covered under warranty. Here's a pic to hold you until you get your photobucket account up and post your own pics. I'm so glad you're happy with your little treasure! :)

Really sweet. And ..... to top it off, they are great looking ones! Was hoping you'd post a side-by-side pic like this. Congratulations. Oh .... how close are their birth dates? Since these were supposed to be dealer exclusives, I would think they would be pretty close.
