Wow, really nice work!

Switched out the pen blade and it’s spring to add the cap lifter, epoxied and pinned on mammoth ivory covers and added notch to access the nail nick for the cap lifter that was dropped in a previous mod that it was part of. Had a few issues along the way but was able to problem solve or fix all of them. Polished to near mirror finish. Stopped when it was no longer hazy since it went right in my pocket.

Thank you! Here are a few more under the error revealing fluorescent lights of my office.
The black splotch by the pin in the first picture is some epoxy I colored to fix it after I chipped it peining in the pin. The bark mammoth ivory is much more brittle than I was prepared for. After doing that there were some pins that hold only the covers on that I had to re-pein after it was already assembled because I held back too much and sanded past where it would hold, I used som flat stock in the blade wells and wedged it it to provide the resistance and keep it from deforming from the hammering, it worked surprisingly well.

Thanks! It looks like you did a phenomenal job to get it to the end.

That looks like a winner to me!!!

Well done. That reminds me that I should quit buying knives so I can buy a belt sander for regrinds. ;)

They're fun, and for $35 at Harbor Freight with the coupon, they're well worth giving the hobby a boost, IMO.

Now that's a dandy rehandle! I love the slabs you chose! Was that originally a Crown Lifter, or did you swap layers around from a couple knives?

Here's a polished up Ancient I just did today. I had seen a handful of guys do this, and though I'd give it a go. I really love how it turned out, smooth pocket worn, kinda appaloosa-ish. And the walk and talk on this thing is like a siren's song.

I like it. Looks like you hit the bolsters too. Looks good. As for what the knife was, as far as I’m concerned it’s a radio knife with a long pull blade instead of the crescent it had but I’ve taken apart at least 4 15’s done mods to them and taken them apart again so I can’t be sure, but the cap lifter is definitely from a 2013 rust red radio knife I got on the auction site that had seen better days. This one is actually the same one from a little higher up on this page. I just can’t leave well enough alone.
