I'm late 20's to mid 30's, depending on who's asking .... and I'm pretty much open to all handle materials except metal. Toughness, light weight and stability are what I look for usually.
55 my combat knives need dark colored canvas micarta, my hunting knives need light colored linen micarta, my "other knives" (little used, decorator types, etc.) can have stag, leather, or a very hard wood like ironwood.
...and both the young and the very old are authorized to use fractions of years. Some guy that's 99 ½ years is certainly proud of that half year. Actually, he's proud of each new day!
I'm 30, and my favourite handle material is G10, but I have nothing against other composites, FRN, stainless steel, titanium or stabilized wood. However I would never buy anything with MOP stag or bone. I also dislike aluminium, but that is not a certain dealbreaker.
