Most over-rated production knife brand?

I'm all for being an enthusiast of what ever brand you like but seeking out and interrogating "naysayers" is more than an enthusiast, it's rabid ridiculousness.

I have critiques of all brands, especially of the ones I own the most of. I own more SOGs than any other brand :D

I agree. The only issue is when it turns to personal insults of people who like the knives a certain company makes. IE: calling Kizer fans "naive", and unpatriotic, or Cold Steel fans "Mall Ninjas".

100% agree. Some blind fans simply cannot take it when anything negative is said about their brand, but rather than accept constructive criticism for what it is, they prefer to make excuses for why something is the way it is when they know it could be improved upon. I really believe some people think if they hype and praise something enough, the manufacturer is gonna contact them randomly and give them free stuff for being a shill.

So funny and so true. Those same folks will "defend" their brand at all costs no matter what, basically willing to ignore anything and everything. Really quite pathetic.

The don't just defend it they go on the offensive over "their" brand. Sometimes I'm just like... Seriously dude?!?!? Get real dude.

I can agree with you guys, but there are haters whom do not offer constructive criticism but go out of their way to put down their pet peeve brand any chance they get, and not just on knife forums. It seems to happen on any forum for any subject. Just as annoying as fan boys.

Absolutely. I can think of a couple who are banned for doing it nonstop.

Most of us do have critiques for just about everything lol but hell my 2¢ is worth less than a quartermaster knife.

Agreed on the brand hating crusaders as well, and who knew guitar forums got so heated lol

This, 100%. That's honestly one of my biggest irritations in threads like this is people that pop in and say, "Joe's Knives and Laundromat is totally overrated," AND DON'T ELABORATE AT ALL! As has been discussed in this thread, there are valid criticisms any of us could level at any brand, but, "X brand sucks!" ain't one of them. Ever.

Oh heck yea! Passions run extreme on the guitar forums. Don't ever dare bring up the subject of "tone woods" if you know what's good for you.

It's worse than a "best blade steel" thread. LOL!

how dare you use MY beloved kizer in a sentence that is anything but a fanatical rave!

The nerve of some people.....

My relatively unusual choice is Chris Reeve, the fit finish and construction are impeccable but I cannot stand the fact they only heat treat their blades to 58RC, to me that is just wasting the potential of the S35VN that CRK even helped create.

A legitimate criticism. I might be wrong, but I think they've finally caved a bit and have changed the hardness to 59-60 on the folding knives.
