I am sorting blocks and will be taking new and hopefully better photos through the coming week. After that I will restock the webstore. I keep finding boxes of blocks I cut and set aside planning to sand and list later.
I guess you might say I've got issues. When I get restless and want to get away from people for a while, I start cutting up burls to see what I'll find inside. Starts to pile up after a few years. Like some of the guys here on the forum, "I am a wood junkie".
I finally stopped kicking the tires and purchased an assortment of blocks, thanks for cutting them into scales! THANK YOU for the great service and communication. Martin
Sorry I was so slow posting the photo for this week's (June 25) block.
It's not really burl but it is a real nice piece. It is a piece of swamp salvage maple with tight curly figure. It is hard to tell by the photo but the wood has real cool little speckles and tight curl that has a metallic shimmer. It will get a lot more colorful if you use an oil finish.
I went to the random number generator and the number it selected was #66. That was a post by me. I win!
No that wouldn't be fair so I tried it again. It picked #38.
Winner for the 6/25 drawing is post #38 - Canine Forge
Congratulations Joe! You are the winner. Send me a PM with your mailing address and I will mail your prize.
Here is the block you win. My photos are not very good so expect it to be nicer in real life.
Remember, every time you guys get wood from one of the BS threads yoiu get to enter the contest again. Thanks for playing and good luck everyone.
