Multi-Color Becker Handle Kit Now Available

Hmmmm.

I'm settling down after my initial reaction and was thinking about Ethan's post. The colors like od green & coyote are functionally good when your knife shouldn't be seen. Practically, that most likely means not being seen by other people. Aesthetics notwithstanding, unless you are military or someone on the run, that shouldn't be a requirement for someone being in the outdoors, eh? Blue tarp isn't a natural color and I've seen fall conditions where even blaze orange (or red) can be hard to spot. Something to think about, anyway.

We should be thankful kabar is thinking about us and especially that they chose to make them in the USA, IMHO.

I do wish I could buy them individually.

So, who's got the guts to put the pink one on their new kukri?

Dex, I'll take a Red set and then see if I can dye it a nice dark ORANGE.

Done!

Dex, how much are you planning on selling the single sets for?

I am thinking around $12 a set would be a fair price.

Also might have an option to exchange the black ones for a color set when someone buys a new knife for $4 or $5 dollars more?

The Blue is still my Fav.

And I'm not a big pink fan but I have started to experiment with my Parkerizing and I can do Black Parks or Grey Parks and was thinking that the pink would look great with the grey Blade.

Also, these scales may go good with a paired up color a Kydex Sheath for those who are into the loud colors.

Sounds great.

I've gone from an early reaction of "WTF??!!!" to "Shuddup and take my money."
The colors are hypnotizing.

kinda like the f150

ford doesn't care what you think

you will buy them anyway :D

They're occupying my head space, rent free. Some some of psychedelic, technicolor voodoo.

DEXWITHERS,

You may need to start a colored scale sales thread. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a blue set and I know someone else has claimed a red pair. You may be able to sell a good bit of them before you even receive them!

Well Guys. They are here.

Kinda weird seeing these in person. haha.

They do seem to have just a little bit more grip than the black scales.

Anyway, gonna put these on some knives tomorrow and take some real world pics. I think they will look different once on the actual knife and will be interesting to see how they look on a stripped Becker.

Anyone looking for a single set, just shoot me an email. I have a few not spoken for.

I still want a Blue set. I'll shoot you an email.

Looks like my suspicion I mentioned earlier in the thread was right, the lighting really made them look lighter than they really were in the original pics. They don't have that slightly pastel look to them in your pictures. The red looks much better to me now too (I'm still just going to the one set of blue to start out though).

Shoot, they look a lot better in your photos Dex, haha. I kinda like that green.

Oddly enough i really like the blue and i have a feeling the green would look good also. Thanks for the pics.

We need someone like Vik to be swinging an RBK with pink handles to break the stereotype.
I second the motion.

hand it to me, I will do it justice!

Well, I'm over the initial Easter-colors shock. Now I'm thinking I have to have an all-pink BK-9.

It's on.

after it's dry to touch, bake the krylon at 300F for about 45 minutes and it will cure up hard -- much better wear resistance.
(works even better if you strip and ferric chloride etch or parkerize the blade then paint)

um -- you thought they were kidding, right?
I'm the guy with a pink anvil & band saw and ox-blood micarta on my modded BK10.

I'm not afraid of pink zytel... :D
glitter, OTOH, I'll leave to Terrio. ;)

Besnazzling! I tell ya, it's the next big thing in custom knife scales...

What? No chartreuse or lemon chiffon?!

HEY NOW! ... what are those gawdy 'easter egg' thingies laying on and why don't I have one already?!

Well, I've sent my order and payment. Now, the waiting begins.

I just hope Dexwithers doesn't take them off the BK9 when he sends them.:)
