My 5000th Post Traditional Fixed-Blade Giveaway - Do we have a winner?!

Jack, congrats on the 5000 and thanks for the giveaway fun.

Here is one definitely not in my normal style.

With plenty of green in it, could be rockgolfer, Doug Add, Humppa, or even . . . . Jack Black!

When I arrived here last January I was clueless about photography, so I stole ideas, I mean, took inspiration from many.

I copied this setup from a similar picture Andi posted.

These two were arranged to mimic pictures Pete posted.

Those are just the blatant steals. I picked up lighting, angles, arrangement of setting, etc. lessons from several members.

So, I wanted to pay homage to Sarah's cat pictures but I don't have a cat.

But here is my Lilly...

I cannot believe she actually sat still for these shots, she seems to hate cameras. All I ever get are blurry shots of her turning away...

I don't have a cat either, so no cute kitten pictures. However, Joy, the neighborhood cat would often come by while I was setting up for shots on the slate sidewalk. She would look everything over, then go sit nearby as long as I was outside. I snapped this one just for Sarah.

Thanks for all your entries folks and for all the great pics, very imaginative, and sometimes very funny too. Please keep 'em coming :)

Fes, I don't mind at all my friend, here are a trio of Anton Wingens, seeing as though we are talking fixed blades Jack, and my friend I am in!, if I am lucky enough to win, you can hand it to me in person in September.

Anyways, I updated my post with my humble entry.

Jack, thanks for a great give away! That's a great looking knife and whoever wins will be lucky!

Ok, here's my lame attempt at copying somebody's style...

H-15 Drop-point by Pinnah, on Flickr

And yes, the person I'm copying is you! I'll try to use the knife for dinner prep tonight to add to it!

More great pics fellers, don't think I could read this thread without a big grin on my face. Really appreciate the entries :)

Aw, thanks so much! Perhaps Miss Lilly simply needed the proper motivation, ie, ain't no cat gonna one-up her! :D I love the tongue shot. That's a great knife, too.

Hey, I remember when you did that! Thanks again.... :)

Here's another, a bit more arcane (as far as typical "style") but it made an impression on me when I first saw it:

I agree-- MTDamascus's pictures are exceptional in composition, lighting, fantastic knives....

Nice homage. :)

(That screwdriver/caplifter is an interesting lil' thing. Fair to say you took a blade and [re]handled it yourself?)

[We now return you to your regularly schedule programming.]
