My experience with Liu Kang

I must say that LK does take particular care in the presentation of his knives in his for sale threads, beautiful pictures.

Just make sure you ask Dan if the knife in the picture is going to be the one he is going to send you,not one that he had a go buffing the blade(and failed).

Buyers should also be aware that for any knife Liu Kang sells that has in some way been worked on by "George" (BFC nick "kenrunchen"), that the work has been done by George rather than the Busse shop may be sufficient grounds in the company's eyes to void the Busse warranty in some way (ie. make it a "limited warranty instead of the usual "no questions asked" policy Busse typically provides). That in and of itself would be enough for me to steer clear. Of course, YMMV.

That's the point that was made earlier in the thread about opportunity cost. These are people, me included, who will never buy from you.

I find you interesting from a sociological perspective. There is a cultural element to this regardless of how many people want to scream racism when difference that are bad are highlighted. I lived and worked in Asia for many years. What I believe we are seeing is a cultural phenomenon that says whatever I can do to talk you out of your money makes me clever, and you stupid. There are undoubtedly native borns who subscribe to this same philosophy but it is not woven into the fabric of our society the way it is into the merchant world of Asia.

LK do you believe the saying, "Laws are made by man, not God." I bet you do.

THANK YOU!!!! i didnt want to be 'that guy' to be the first to bring up the asian business ethics, but there we have it. im half asian and am a lot closer with my asian half of the family and also live in kahala hawaii which is mostly all asian so i hope this doesnt come off as racist, but just like techexec said liu kang has the stereotypical 'ha i got your money i smarter than you' and 'hurry up and buy, and no complain!' business motto. customer is never right and if theres ever a problem (which there always is) lots of beating around the bush ensues and somehow you feel at fault for their mistakes. they blame manufacturers and u but will never accept any responsibility or ever offer any actual refunds. they might pull the same crap liu kang did and try to 'buy' the product back calling it a refund, but their actual intentions is to now mark it up to a higher price than what u just paid so they can rip the next guy off for a couple extra bucks to make up for the time lost on you.

to all of those that were lucky to get a good transaction, im honestly happy for you.
to all of those that dont understand why the OP made this posted and why people keep posting and keeping it alive, you just dont get it. i love posts like this as long as they dont get out of hand. how the hell else are you supposed to know if a seller is legit or not?? a simple star rating system?? this is a community of people sharing all sorts of experiences knife related. its strangers helping and looking out for each other because of a common hobby. go ahead and keep ordering off ebay and off of risky sellers who dont deserve your money. ill stick to my more trusted people and shops. sometimes they have good prices, sometimes they have only fairly reasonable prices but make up for it in intangible things like service and peace of mind.

and last to liu kang, i went back and read nearly all of the posts. the more i read, the more im glad i never made a purchase, id be sick right now if u made a dime off of me. the 5% paypal turned me off before, i assumed the extra charges meant premium packaging, shipping, and service since the knives were so valuable and you seemed like you moved a lot of knives. but now i know it was all deposited to the pocket.
you say that you could care less about people complaining about you because none of these people on this thread are previous customers, well i hope someday when business is slow you think about all the people you lost over $11 and a bad attitude. i honestly contemplated buying quite a few knives from you and still see some current knives i want, but ill pass. you can keep telling yourself none of these people in this thread would have bought something from you if it helps you sleep at night.

How would the outcome have been any different with seeing an insurance sticker on the box? Just the fuzzy warm feeling of knowing that the extra money didn't end up in the seller's pocket?

Send me twenty dollars please.

Sorry , but there is a pretty damn good point a lot of people here are either missing , or just ignoring on purpose - Why the hell Mr. Jerry Busse and his associates keep letting this POS weasel buy knives from him ?

I mean he is not some huge manufacturer like Benchmade , Kershaw , Spyderco who sell and distributes their knives via thousands of retailers and dealers around the world
With this phony , ridicules marketing they use , the only way to buy a brand new Busse , is directly via Busse , and he could have banned this guy ass within seconds from his website for good

So well , why the hell didn't he ? where the hell is Busse's ethics ? does he even give a damn , at all ?

Yeah , it so easy buying a frikkin 700$ blades anonymously online , let alone at the huge volumes this douche buying , and directly from a manufacturer website

Busse can EASILY ban this douche , provided he actually wanted to

This thread is not about Jerry Busse and who he sells knives to.

This thread is about Busse koolaid drinkers who bashing some crook called Liu Kang , but ignoring the fact that their god himself , Jerry Busse , pretty much showing the same level of dishonesty and low ethics by letting this guy the opportunity to run this BS in the first place , even though he can easily prevent it from happening

[ ... ]

This is thread is not about Busse business practices. Busse Combat is not responsible for Liu Kang's business practices. He is a BF Dealer who sells Busse knives. He is not an official Busse dealer.

If you have a point to make, do so in its own thread.

calm down you will live longer...i doubt liu kang buys them directly using his own name maybe something along the lines or x y imports etc.. or john smith enterprises... who knows

and going on some half cocked tirade off subject about busse shows me your issues have little to do with this thread and more about a personal issue ..maybe this thread isnt the place to voice it..
