My knife can change school policy!!!

*Looks at location* Ah, england. Makes sense.

Um...that would be New England. As in USA.

Wow! Sorry Grownstar that this thread has turned so political. I thought it was a nice thought provoking story though...

I'm sure most of you have seen this before, but here it is again:

Not sure how this translates to school violence, but I think it's pretty safe to assume the statistics for schools mirror the general statistics.

This society has become too damn soft. Banning students from bringing pocket knives to school is one thing, but telling grown responsible adults they can't cut their children's food up is another thing. These policies have no effect on induviduals with malicious intent anyways.

Way to go, Dad of the Year. Did you know you more than likely broke the law, too? Schools have Zero Tolerance policies for ANY weapon. It is the law. When I volunteer at my kid's school, I leave EVERY knife locked in the car. Am I going to hurt anyone? Nope. But I also don't want a criminal record.

I think the only tool was you. Knives are weapons, period.

Your cockiness served you well, Skippy.

I didn't. I knew exactly what it was going to be from the title.

So - if a nail needs nailing, how do they do it? A hammer is a dangerous weapon. Scissors? Pencils for crying out loud?

This may seem like a small thing, but it's really not. The terrorists and nut-job shooters have won. As a society we are terrified of everything now. History teaches that when a society experiences fear, that is when it is most vulnerable to facism. It's happening right before our eyes. We need to wake up.

Also, do you think the guy who intends to harm people is going to follow this stupid facist rule? Fearful people can be so goddamn dumb in their quest to make themselves feel all snuggie in their beds.

This is the same BS you all spout off every time you try justify carrying a knife where you're not allowed to. Knives are weapons, according to the law. The can make that call, whether or not you agree. If you challenge it with the 'tool' line, you'll lose, period.

Pencils, hammers, and scissors? Not weapons unless used as one. The law says. Knives=weapons. Get over it.

That's going just a bit too far.

I don't think he "broke the law" on purpose. In fact, didn't he say it wasn't even a rule until they discovered the apple had been cut?

Yeah, jimbo. I'm gonna have to call you out on your bullsh*t. I don't presume to know a thing about you other than your poor choice in avatars, but that meme is just about crossing the line.

I can tell why you see "knives a weapons, period." You're probably one of those wanna-be macho jerks who loves all the Crank movies.

It appears my thread is being derailed a bit here. I'm still not gonna close it.

OK, I now have to check back on this thread.
Much more of the personal insults and I will close it.

Not where I live, sir. I can legally carry a 5,6,7+ incher whenever and wherever I please, with no explanation required. Including automatics. And I have *never* used one as a weapon, or even thought of doing so. Nor would I ever, unless my life was on the line and there was no other alternative. So I reject your premise, and so does the law in the state of Tennessee. A law that, as of July 1, 2014, overrides all local ordinances.

Furthermore, I have been held at knife point before. You know what? I didn't blame the knife. The SOB holding it was the problem, not the knife.

My view is that the no knives policy is for the kids, not so much for the adults. But I would keep my knife in my pocket. I don't like rocking the boat much, so out of sight is out of mind.

Cool story man... if I'd been that teacher I would have asked her what knife you used. ;)

Before I looked who posted this I thought it would be a new FFK design, seriously. :D
