It was actually the opposite, my mom wanted me to keep it always at the same spot so we know where it is. She also knows where I keep my other knives. And it was her suggestion for me to keep one of my knives on place that's easily available.Have your parents ever asked you not to leave the knife unsheathed on the floor....or told you to keep it somewhere safe and away from curious hands?
No radiators, and pretty much nothing is around my desk. I even went through my wardrobe, moved the furniture, I turned everything upside down but sadly I didn't find it. It's not a small knife. Recon Tanto is rather large fixed blade...So the question is, could it have gotten collected in with some other stuff? Could it be in a box? Could it have fallen and ended up in a weird spot? For instance, could it have fallen behind a radiator or into a boot?
Well... I'm gonna go through trash too now...Just a thought. If you have been exchanging gifts then the knife may have been borrowed to open something and then picked up and binned with the wrap paper, cardboard and other trash.

Yeah, now I feel really lucky I recently bought another SK5 Recon Tanto. It's a bummer. Hopefully your Recon turns up, especially since the future of CS is lookin pretty bleak. All of their older quality stuff is going to be hard to find and expensive within the next few years by my guess.
Ya people. There was a forum member years back that I got to know casually, mainly in the outdoor forums . He was fairly close by in Alberta. We where going to exchange a few knives by mail to try them out. I sent a couple, one was a Johnston Pot belly, or whatever it was called, and something else. Nothing showed up on my end after some vague replies. So I remembered his job description and I actually hunted him down at his employer. My last contact with him years ago, was that he was sending a hatchet as replacement. Of course the miserable pr... never sent a thing, and he quit coming here.My ex wife stole two knives from me after I left her.
We could bump it up to 13 years lolWe should start a new myth like those of " broken mirror bringing seven years bad luck ". Steal tools or knife will bring seven years bad luck.![]()

It was also in a drawer... it couldn't just drop out.If the knife was under the table and separate from the sheath, it does seem odd that the sheath would disappear as well.
True, I'll let it go. It's gone now and there is nothing I can do about it. I can just hope that the person who stole it had a reason for doing so.You need to find a way past it, you can’t let it fester in your heart.
As corny as it sounds. Someone needed it worse than you did, wish them good luck with it and move on.
They’ll get theirs in the end. Karma is brutal!
The last person that burned me real bad that I forgave. Got sick, and had pancreatic cancer. That guy died a slow miserable death and is rotting in hell now.
I really like that one.how about “A stolen knife will always cut you when you least expect it.”

How old is this girl ? I'd capture that photo in case she deletes it.UPDATE!!!
My sister accidentally found it scrolling on instagram!
Teenage daugter of my mom's friend has just posted an Instagram story of herself licking my Recon Tanto!
It has to be that same knife. The coating is worn out exactly the same way like on mine. It can't be a coincidence...
I sent her a text, I wonder what will she have to say about this.
15/16 I think...How old is this girl ? I'd capture that photo in case she deletes it.
