My new contest.....

This is an excellent idea and i am in for sure. i have been steadly gaining weight for about 2 years due to my lazyness and this last weekend i was in banff and practically crippled trying to walk up a few flights of stairs...

I feel like a complete idiot because about three years ago i decided to loose a bunch of weight and went from 270 pounds to 200 in 4 months! now i have hit an all time low of 290 pounds and am very disapointed about it. so enough is enough and i had decided to start working my ass off when i came back from holidays anyway. this will give me the needed ,motivational boost to help me lose weight.

My issues are still from my broken legs. At it is right now I cannot jump, run, or bend over properly, and I go for surgery (again) in a month. Breaking my legs was a good thing for my weight, as I lost appetite and 40 pounds as a result. But since going back to school, specifically finals last semester, I have gained 20-30# again (depends on the day). As Juli just gave birth on Thurs now we both have a reason to get more in shape. On top of this is the fact that Massage is a Health Care profession and I feel an unfit therapist is disrespectful to other therapists. We are hoping to bike more often (have a 2 seat carriage for the kids), and hopefully get some hiking/camping in.

I'm in- but doubt the weights will be lifted, cardio and eating are more important to my body type (besides kids are enough weight to lift!).
 
I'm in for this contest. I doubt I have much of a chance at winning but hopefully it will get me started on a few personal goals. I am not over weight but I am not in the shape I would like to be. As I sit here I am 6'1" and 160lbs so basically I am a stick but plan on getting in much better shape and possible gain a few pounds. My big problem is trying to get into a routine, I rotate monthly for my current job.

5' 10" weight 140-150. Weighed exactly 145 this morning. I'm in the normal range of BMI/body fat; however, I still need to lose some fat and gain muscle(can sort of tell in the pic). I want to lose 5-10 lbs of fat. So I need to gain about 20 lbs of muscle. The last 10 lbs will be water. So I am shooting for 160-165#.I can eat anything and not go over 150#(or at least yet), so it is going to take a lot of work!

Leg press 410# for 5 reps, Bench press 8 reps at 100#, and 2 widegrip pullups. Should have had a spotter cause I could have probably packed on 2 more reps on the presses. Hope to get up to 550# and 200# with 20 widegrip pullups.

Also have personal measurements but I doubt they will change much.

My boss just informed us that the company is going to assist us with membership for MMA/Krav Maga classes AND the post I work at is allowing ALL employees, contractors, etc use of the gym for free...:cool:
 
I'm amped for this. I need to get some before pics. I've got two week long vacations coming up during this contest so it'll be a test in willpower for me. I leave for vacation this Saturday and I'm sick as a dog right now, hopefully it'll clear up by then.

I suggest eating pizza, burgers, and potato chips all slathered in lard...it should help you feel better...

yeah, I just got done ..... running.... I hate running. I'm freaking running. Where's the thread? :D

I took before pics and want to kick myself in the nuts....

I'm doing that symbolically by running. oh, and cutting out 2 pots of coffee a day (one, maybe 2 cups in the morning instead of 2-3 pots through the day)
 
I don't want to see any more pics of myself. That draught horse on my stomach started out as a pony.
 
Took our first long walk around a man made lake with the new family, man are my legs sore and swollen! Really have to get the bikes going!
